I hope this helps others do some basic but really important car maintenance for themselves. Take no short cuts and be sure to use all the proper safety equipment. I for one forgot to wear safety glasses! Different tools can be used for the job so know how to use YOUR tools safely.
Going to the dealer is time consuming and waiting is not one of my strengths. The quick oil change shops cost more and their upselling verges on criminal.
Enjoy the road to being more self sufficient and saving a little money.

I love this video, thank you so much. Do you have to start your vehicle before checking the dip stick level?
@LadybugAdventures
@LadybugAdventures Жыл бұрын
I usually start it to make sure things are running and there's no leaks. Then I wait a minute to make sure the oil settles down before you check the dipstick.

Could you tell me the part number of the crush washer and filter oil please .
@LadybugAdventures
@LadybugAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't have those part numbers. I had and insanely hard time finding the size of the crush washers. In the end I just went to my Honda dealership and bought some of the crush washers. If you have any questions like that I would just call up a Honda dealership and get the part numbers from them.

Great, concise video! I will add that my CRV sucked up every bit of my 5 quart bottle!! (I must've let it drain too long?)

does your oil smell like gas when you check it (dipstick sniff) . The gen 5 crv's are having oil dilution problems but I think your 2016 (as well as mine) which have Direct injection also suffer from it as well but to a lesser extent . My 2016 runs great btw but for whatever reason dipstick / oil cap smalls like gas.
@LadybugAdventures
@LadybugAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it smells like gas. Just regular engine oil smell.

Is there an alternative to a torque wrench, whould a ratchet work?

There are other torque sockets you use on a regular ratchet. I like to keep with the torque specs when I can.
