Found the same thing in an old truck I recently purchased as a project

That’s normal for older vehicles should be fine

Allan, metal shavings in the oil is never a good sign. In other earlier videos, you mentioned a ticking or rapping sound from the engine. There's good chance that the two symptoms are related. I thought that's why you removed the valve cover, but then I realized that the sound seemed to come from the passenger side of the engine, but you removed the driver's side valve cover? In any case, don't let this go on. Find out or have a mechanic diagnose it. Metal shavings in oil can rapidly destroy an engine, if it hasn't already.

Thanks Joe! I found out it’s most likely a rod bearing journal surface gone bad - along with a rod bearing. Apparently, something may have hit the oil pan in the past (you can see it’s dented and has jbweld around the drain plug) and it lost oil while driving. Mechanic said they put new rod bearings in it put didn’t take care of the underlying problem.
