So I looked it up and apparently online I’m assuming from the Lexus dealership it says to use 30pounds for the filter

Ok..Good Video..May I suggest a few great tips....Always use the Toyota/Lexus Oil Canister Adapter Socket for removal/ Installation..With new O-Rings..Use Red Wheel Bearing Grease on threads and rings on that canister housing..It will seal and protect..There is a torque setting from the factory on everything..Just snug the housing as you install..It will seat itself and you will see and hear a factory metal clip click it place..Just like putting the oil drain plug..Clean it..New washer..Little bit of grease..Snug it in..No torque wrench..Watch people snap a bolt or fixture following every torque spec...Head bolts/Rods/Mains/etc. yes torque..Keep it Simple Stud..Carry On.......

Hold it with an oil filter wrench while you loosen the drain plug. That's all it is. To replace the filter you still have to remove the filter housing.

Excellent video. I wish Lexus vehicles can be simple in doing oil changes. P.S: you sound like the former NBA player JJ Reddick. Your voice is very similar to him hehehe

So on those Toyota/Lexus oil canisters don’t remove that center piece. The only reason for doing so is to insert that stupid plastic “tool” (that only works about 10% of the time) to partially drain the oil out of the canister. Talk to any Toyota/Lexus mechanic and they will tell you the same thing which is to leave it alone and don’t remove that cap. Instead, just clean up the little oil mess. Just use the proper oil filter tool to remove and install the filter housing.

Definitely agree. Waste of time. And another potential leak location
