Oil, Leave-in & Gel Wash & Go 😍

I’ve gotten so many questions on how I use oil in my wash and go routine. Well, here it is! I hope you all enjoy it! 🥰
This is NOT a tutorial. I am simply showing how I care for my natural curly hair and the products I use in my hair care routine.
This video is not intended to replace the need for a professional stylist. Partnering with a professional stylist to help maintain healthy and vibrant curls in my opinion is priceless curl friends! 🙌🏽
Lastly, the products I share may or may not work for your hair elements. Therefore, I am not suggesting you run out and buy them. However, if you do it’s because you’re grown and can chose to spend your coins 🤑 where you please!

Guys. I think that I’m going back to the old LOC method with my gel as topper for my wash N go. Looking back my hair was the healthiest and shiniest when I was doing this. I also had the best hold.

This is super cute. I am surprised as to why oils with wash and go gel sets were discouraged within the BGC method. Like what was the reason????Your hair looks so good with added oils. Plus added protection for the hair strand and the hair doesn’t lose its definition after many days!

Great point! I think they discouraged oils because sometimes you don’t get as defined curls with oil usage and it can affect longevity of the style. I think it’s bad advice and detrimental to the overall health of the hair! Awesome post! 👏🏽🥰

Looks really beautiful! I use Big Poppa as well and like how it holds the curl. I use Hawaiian Silky as a leave-in before the Big Poppa and my hair seems to like it. I have a Denman D9, (the smaller one) to encourage the curl but I may need to get that D38 because my hair is longer. Watching you embrace your hair as it is has been an inspiration to me. I’d be walking around looking like a dripping grease ball lol 😂 also I chopped my hair on 8/3. I tried to get a cut similar to yours with length towards the front but the girl snatched all my back off. About 14 inches. I actually just tried the adding leave in after my curls are dry. It’s a huge difference 😮😁 my curls are more springy once 70% dry.

Indeed, a huge difference. The previous wash n go's when I used AG products, no leave in and no oil, dried out my hair till it was almost unrecognizable. I have been getting my hair cut and probably in 4-6 more months will have a new head of hair. Meanwhile I have dropped the Innersense products (I do use their sweet spirit leave in), as well as the AG products and what a difference. I guess it has been said that oils would not work well with setting the curl pattern. I do not find that to be the case. 98% of my cuts were done with my hair blown dry. I like to be able to wear my hair straight from time to time and need the cut to be well defined.

Yes girl I’m super heavy handed. It’s a sickness 🤣 Zero flaking with Big Poppa and the leave ins I’ve been playing around with. Now when I used the bee girl custard and the foam, I had flaking and my hair felt dry. No bueno for me! 😝

Beautiful!! My hair was cut twice in a very similar style…first in 2016 and then again in early 2021. Both times I let it grow out which involved a lot of twists and updo’s. I’ve thought about cutting it again because even though I didn’t fully subscribe to BGC full method…I didn’t always use a leave in and I had stopped deep conditioning thinking a rinse out was sufficient and I no longer used oils. I do think it affected my hair in some capacity but not to the extent of yours. So a cut may be in my future.

I’m living for these combos! I know you mentioned that it lasts through humidity. I use innersense and feel like it doesn’t hold up against sweat/humid conditions when I workout. Do you feel like this gel is better for that?

I suspect it's from working in my vegetable garden with no covering ( bad move I know) I did a reconstructor and a deep conditioner. It feels a little better but I'm following you Sis!! No because I became allergic to them. My dermatologist told me to stop using the all natural products because they have too many essential oils and such that tend to cause allergic reactions in lots of people. 😅
