Well......Then just start slapping paint onto a canvass with no rhyme or reason, call it "Modern Art" and voila! Masterpiece!

Appreciate how straight to the point and honest your video was. I’ve been painting with acrylics for years, but I’m trying to start using oils. So many confusing things about it, and just need somewhere to start. Thanks for the advice 😃

Great video! I actually have been oil painting for a while but wanted to see what you had to say and this is perfect for beginners! What I would have loved to hear when I started out

This was a great video. I really want to learn to paint and took a local class. It was pretty overwhelming so I've been binging on beginner videos. Yours is encouraging and I'm going to give that class another try. Thanks.
@paintcoach5 жыл бұрын
dianthus63 thanks! Yes most classes and even KZbin videos can be overwhelming bc the instructor feels the need to flex their knowledge. I feel the best way is to keep things as simple as possible and have the student have as much fun as possible to get some momentum. I see it similar to the way most people first learn the guitar not through lessons but through learning their favorite licks

The residu sinks in the jar, you take the clean thinner out and how do you get the residu out of the ajr after that ?

Would you suggest buying a decent size sketchbook and priming the pages and painting on them for practice.
@paintcoach4 жыл бұрын
mohd ali I’ve seen that done but I have never done it. I just buy a canvas pad which is already primed canvas in book form haha I always highly recommend keeping things simple as possible when starting out and buying a sketchbook and gesso and priming paper sounds a lot harder than just buying canvas paper.

can I just use a clean rag instead of paper towels?
@kuriboh6353 ай бұрын
I would not recommend it if you use any oils or paint thinners, because rags soaked in alcohol or oil based substances can combust if not disposed of properly.
