Here is a primer video on the expanded limited palette that I like to use. Instead of using one red, yellow, and blue in addition to brown and white - we have pairs of primary colors.
By using a "warm" and a "cool" version of each primary color, we can greatly increase our color mixing potential. One example: you can get a cleaner green by mixing the cooler version of yellow (Cadmium Lemon) and blue (Cobalt) instead of Ultramarine Blue and Cadmium Yellow Deep which lean towards red and that will neutralize the green mixture. The former mixture leans away from red which results in a more powerful intense green.
A recap of the colors:
*Red*
Cadmium Light
Quinacridone Magenta
*Blue*
Ultramarine
Cobalt
*Yellow*
Cadmium Lemon
Cadmium Deep
*Brown*
Asphaltum
*White*
Titanium
Flake Replacement
We will do a future video with all these paints out and we will do some color mixing in real time!
Thank you for watching and hope this helps!
