I could sit and watch you paint for hours! Then I want to get up and go create something in that impressionistic style. For years I painted with brushes, but more recently started using palette knives, and Silicone shapers to move the paint around. Am liking the effects. I love the colors you use in your artwork. You eat the yummiest and healthiest food, good for you!

Probably my favorite video yet! And I'm pretty sure that flooded gum tree painting is probably my favorite I've seen you paint yet. Unreal! Funny, last time you were there I think I commented how dry and barren everything looked. Now it's so green and full of life.

G'day my friend. What a stroke of luck having those beautiful gum trees immersed in the water. Another great study of reflected light and shadow tones. What an adventure you take me on once again. The sounds, the sights, the food, the paint. Magnificent marvelousness magnified mate ;) Had to watch this twice with a break in between to take in the full effect. Watched the full video Richard. Great timeline sequence, everything worked for me and the scenes you captured on camera were wonderful. Your small paintings were crazy good, your skills with choosing landscapes and blending colour on the canvas improve over and over the more you’re in your happy camping locations. Don’t forget... the good stuff is in them pumpkin skins also, lol. Full of flavour too. A great video mate and thank you so much for sharing. Enjoyed every second. 👍🎹👍👍

I just love watching these videos Richard. The beautiful serenity with birdsong and gentle breezes moving through the trees and on the water is so peaceful. I love watching you mix the colours and place them seemingly so randomly but overall the painting comes alive. You are an amazingly gifted artist. How do you convert the grey colours of the trees to the colours you use and see?

Hey thanks for the compliments Jodie, it is wonderful out there! The greys...? Mix the colour that is opposite to it on the colour wheel and it will create subtle greys!

Hi fr S Africa, now that I see how u do it I've decided to rework some paintings that I did use with a palette knife !! Things I gave learn't fr you 1) you don't have to know how to draw, 2) loosen up so as not to paint photographically , I know about leading the eye , contrasts of values and light and reflective lightsource , love light and textures, clouds thanks for your lovely way u give your tutorials and all the other little odd bits u throw in, nice to learn other things about u!!!!
