Hi Richard, I'm not an expert in painting however, I've the impression that your style is unique and recognizable. The energy you put in your work, sometimes bordering on trance, is found in each trace of your knife on the canvas (and also on your palette !). For me, it's your signature. Thank you for sharing these moments with us.

We are so privileged watching you at work, its brilliant. What I like is the chats you did at the end whilst making your cuppa and explaining your thoughts. That was brilliant to listen to and so enlightening. This was a great trip and you punched a lot of work into it, but still time to enjoy the peace and serinity of the outback...priceless. Bill

Never used palette knives before, but looking at how beautiful those marks are with the marbled mix … just gorgeous, going to have to try it.

I really love the proportions of this panel. It works so well with the scene you chose. That motion shot at the 27:15 mark shows the effect of the proportion on a viewer as they walk into a room with that painting on a wall. The painting is absolutely gorgeous.

G'day mate, what a tremendous workout, I'm tired watching you. Speed painting should be a required sport for the next Olympics. Magnificent result and a masterclass on spontaneity and being in the moment. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I learn something new each video as well as reinforcing what I now know. Boldness, connection, emotion drive your efforts and are very inspiring. Cheers my friend, Rich

Hey, Richard, good to see you so alive and well. You are obviously blessed with endless energy, and so early in the morning. You're right, painting outside on location, especially in this stunning landscape, is the ultimate experience. Although there seems to be nothing but flat land and distant mountains in your surroundings, you always manage to give your paintings that depth through your choice of colours. I like the orange of the canvas against which the other colours glow, or vice versa. The quickly painted picture undoubtedly shows your signature, as always. It is beautiful, as is the background music. Blessings

One of the things that struck me was your comment about the rugged wildness. This comes through in the result and may be one of the most attractive features of this work. I loved the creamsicle underpainting, but I'm curious why you go to the trouble of doing this under the top 2/3 of the painting since this part is completely covered by later layering? As for being in the moment - Richard you own the moment!
@richardmusgrave-evans3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks, nothing better than being 'in the moment'! I just coloured the canvas for a bit of variety and it I also seen on the edges of the finished painting! Cheers :-)

Are you familiar with Louisa MacElwain? She was an artist from Santa Fe. Painted very similar- palet knife, lots of paint. Mainly landscapes. She passed away about 6 or 7 years ago. Her paintings are very sought after. I am a big fan of her, and YOU.
