Oil painting time lapse of the newest piece in my sunflower series.
I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil paint, and sometimes watercolor. I prefer to work in a mostly realistic style and occasionally experiment outside of that. I post oil painting time lapses, painting lessons and tutorials, drawings, art tips, and occasionally artist vlogs where I share bits of my life as an artist. Thank you for this. I thought I was the only one who obsessed over details. I started getting into oil paints hoping it would help me free myself to do more abstract work. People see abstract as such an easy thing but to me it is incredibly difficult since I focus on details every single time. Thank you again for the inspiration.

This painting was just beautiful and I also loved the story surrounding the sunflowers and the butterfly. Butterflies can be very particular about where they land and who/what they decide to be around. It is a testament to your kind spirit and pure intent that its first flight was from your hand.

Beautiful concept, story and painting. It's interesting that you're exploring abstraction, kind of the same way Alpay Efe's doing. From my strictly hobbyist POV, it seems like people who do mostly photo-realism are challenged with working more loosely, the same way people who do less realism (like cartoons, caricatures or more impressionist styles) are challenged with doing more realistic likenesses sometimes.

Absolutely gorgeous painting! It's just a video to us, but the fact that the painting carries so much personal and precious memories of yours make this painting so deep and meaningful and not just something which is only visually aesthetic.
