Hey Scott. I'm grateful for your videos. Inspirational. I wish I could paint like you one day. I have trouble keeping the drawing in place when I start painting. For ex, i lose the outline of the nose after I apply the first layer. How do you handle it?

You have to be very observant and draw with your paint so to speak looking for the contours and how the light falls on the face, not easy l know, if it was everyone could do it 🙂

The first layer should block the tonal values using a monochromatic hue. Then it's a matter of mixing the colours as per the spatial contour and the light(s) falling on them.

I'm not certain, but I think the girl he paints is his daughter. (she was in one of his videos, before). Also, the skin color is spot on; it's perfect; This guy is a genius. Does it look too purple to you?

Caucasians are not white, they are pink people with green/purple undertone due to the colour of veins under the skin.
