I’m so glad you came up on my feed because I’ve never seen you before. I paint in acrylics and I’ve found that I’ve learned the most by watching oil painting tutorials. If I can master a technique that’s usually only able to be done in oils, I greatly enhance my skills. You’ve explained things so well in the few videos I’ve seen. Some of it I’ve figured out myself but I hadn’t really known why those things worked, so replicating those techniques felt like I had to relearn how to paint or how to see, every time I paint. Thank you for being brilliant and knowing how to convey this very helpful knowledge.

It is a beautiful coincidence that I watched this video.. This channel is useful for teaching drawing.. Be careful why there is no translation into languages. My language is Arabic and I do not understand English well. Please activate the translation... I will be grateful to you, dear sir. 🤍🌺💐

I wish you would show the completion of the painting. Good, now I know how to win at Billiards. But actually, you are talking about something that I just happen to be dealing with in my painting. Highlights and the little layers of colors in between. Sometimes I see a layer of cool colors right before the highlight, and then the shadows get intense color, right before they darken. It's hard to figure it out, but I think someone once said, use cool lights and warm darks? Colors make so many optical illusions that they are hard to figure out. Please always illustrate the point with your work. It is such a joy to look at and watch.

This was extremely helpful as a reminder that light rules and defines form. I am very grateful for all the teaching you have done, I `ve learned more from your unpretentious, very sensitive teachings than from years in art school... maybe I should call it anti art school! Moving is so traumatic, hope everything works out for the better for you, you are a kind giving individual. When I am able to afford it, I will be paying for classes from you. Right now and for a long time it has been impossible to pay for much of anything, being sort of stranded on Social Insecurity. I`m explaining this because I feel guilty as hell for receiving your generous free teaching without sending money help your way. But am sending you love and gratitude for all you have given freely for so many years. You are a great artist and a wonderful teacher; please remember that you have inspired and given real hope to a great many creative people, when times for you are ridiculously oppressive. Sending a big bear hug.

Hi Scott, at first greetings from Germany! I like your videos with the tons of information and 'scientific' background. I have one question about your comment that reflectory highlights and diffuse form lights maybe at different locations of a form. The physical laws of the reflection of light and the diffusion of light are similar if you look at the way of the light from the light source to the form. At daylight when you have a sun or the moon as a primary light source and maybe much scattering daylight from walls or other white walls as secondary light sources it might be different. Is this what you're thinking of?

You know Waddell, you may be the first person I ever criticize in my life I don't hurt people feelings, but on the other hand I don't let someone cheating on me for this you made me crazy by wasting my time at watching your videos, you are such a greedy talkative person who just want to make people watching your videos uselessly, without showing em one valuble thing about painting and how to paint unless they paid, alas. There are many more artists offering how to paint with compliments such as draw mix and paint the great nobleman person Mark Carder and many others, I wish to be honest with yourself and don't think about profits and give a chance to people who watched you on the site and supported you to the full. All my love to you from Iraq
