we had a dog who got the 'arfrite-isis' when he got older. he had some medication to make him comfortable, from the vet for quite a few years and it made him seem more chipper. he was a border collie farm dog, loose about the place and sometimes he's set off to go somewhere but his legs would give way and he'd have to be retrieved in a wheelbarrow. :) he lived to be 16, so he really was 'ole shep'. lovely picture, i've been looking at those oil pastels for a new medium adventure.

Always good to see your work - and Basil, of course... not the best weather for plein air, but you seem to thrive on it: maybe Basil not so much...

That was a gorgeous sketch! I bought myself the same set of oil pastels and I'm really inspired to try them out in my khadi sketchbook. I find it very inspiring to see how you just go on and on and make this such an interesting sketch to look at.

Thanks for posting. I have just bought myself a set of oil pastels. They are a lot of fun and also much less heavy than my oil painting plein air kit

Poor old Basil. Maybe you should bring him a blanket to lay on while you sketch. That was a nice little view.

That lovely thick warm carpet of leaves was quite snug. A blanket is a great idea though 😃

Beautiful landscape! Your work here reminds me of a soft pastel Artist named David Greenwood who lived in North Yorkshire. I wish my cat was as patient as your dogger. :)

Hi Andrew, I really love the sketch you did with the oil pastels. I don't use them very often. Wow, this Khadi paper sketchbook is really thick:) Oh, I love to see Basil he is such a cute and lovely boy.

You should take people on walks and show them those what's the areas cuz the absolutely gorgeous and show us where you want to do more pastels of period. Let us pick some spots for you to do.😊

Thank you - that would be a great idea. I might try and do that when the current storms have passed over

Interesting presentation. I find that the Rubens sticks are a little bit dry. The French Sennelier are very good but horribly expensive. Your use of a credit card is interesting. I use the fingers which probably gives more of a feeling but soon you ….. run out of clean fingers and the in Plein air is rather messy. I see you use a lot the pastel pencils. Very practical . Nice job
@AndrewBarrowmanArt29 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. I wouldn't use anything too expensive for outdoor sketching - chances are I would lose them one at a time!
