is there any possibility that the Oil Sands could catch fire this year due to the fires currently burning?

Depends on Arson availability.

@@moscato1ca sorry what do you mean? I'm not really concerned about how the fire gets started, ..what i am concerned about is the size of the fires and the heat that is generated. That is what is most concerning about how climate change affects natural process's like fires. It destroys everything including the soil.

@@-LightningRod- *"It destroys everything including the soil."* This is a fallacy. Every single person working in forestry management will tell you that a forest fire is a natural and beneficial part of forest management. Were there no forest fires before humans arrived? When these fires occurred who put them out? Nobody, they burned continuously until it rained, snowed or the fire arrived at the shores of a lake. Fires during these times killed countless thousands of animals and destroyed millions of hectares of plant life. 100 years ago people put out fires with a bucket brigade. Today we have modern technology including large aircraft and fire retardants that these aircraft drop on the fires. Suspiciously sounds like you just want to promote a narrative.
