I visited oistins years ago with a boyfriend who had family on the island. I was amazed by the quality of the food that we literally chose straight off the grill (looks like things are done abit different now) and it was so cheap. Especially as the portions are so big. If u go to the island make sure you visit the fish fry. Its definitely worth it.

Thanks for doing a video on Oistins. I'm looking forward to going there. Country music?? I never would have guessed that,lol. I can't wait to try the food. However, I don't do pork and I only eat fish that has had fins and scales when it was caught. I hope there is fish like that and I want to try the fish cakes too as long as it's not cooked in pork fat. Liz, if something crawls across my foot while I'm eating, the entire world will know,lol. Everyone will hear me,lol. I was wondering about the dogs too, I knew I wasn't the only one,lol. Please do a video on New York. I would love to visit there, it's definitely on my travel list. Can you do a video for first time visitors to New York? Love your videos.

Well I'm sure snapper has scales... I'm not sure about tuna or swordfish. You can ask them about the fish cakes, I really don't know. The crabs here are so small and that one was scared, as you can see a lot of commotion going on, he was just getting out of the way. And yes, I will do some first-timer stuff on NYC! Fish cakes are made with salted cod fish, fresh herbs (chives, scotch bonnet peppers, marjoram etc), flour, baking powder and water. They are fried in vegetable or sunflower or canola oil; definitely not in pork fat.

Next time you go to oistins you should try La'Amor's Delights. They have a wide variety of food and it is very delicious!! It's a definite must try.
