@@sdssteward crooked or well financed? For the record I think he did it. However, one also knows they played with evidence. I.e. Missing blood from the sample OJ gave, EDTA a preservative found only in sample vials was found in DNA testing of socks, back gate and bronco. The blood stain on back gate found several weeks after that, which they found a pic taken the day of that showed it was not there. Cast off blood stain on inside of socks. Most shocking is Fung testimony. I could write two pages of where detectives manipulated evidence. None of it matters. As Stated, I think he did it. If they just were honest and didn't try to bolster their case against him (dropping the glove) he would have been convicted. No sense! If OJ went from his bronco to the front door leaving a blood trail how does that square with him dropping the glove as he came in by climbing over the fence? Are they suggesting he arrived twice from the same crime scene? I think because it was going to be such a high profile case where the accused was rich and famous they tried to make it air tight. The only problem with that is "there's no such thing as the perfect crime".

I felt like he was playing to the defense team (saying he only saw a Chevrolet Blazer or jeep but then flatly denying he said it looked like a Bronco, hearing the voice of a black man etc), possibly in exchange for some kind of renumeration and Darden surprisingly did a good job at cross examining Heidstra's apparently contradictory statements.
