The Audacity was my favorite because how much room they gave the Clays to shine. Their rhythm section is so underappreciated

I think my favorite thing about Polyphia is that they straight up just do not care. By that I mean to say that the group just explores their creativity and does their thing regardless . Tim loves trap music and such and he went out of his way to feature artists he enjoys listening to on the album fully knowing it was gonna be incredibly devisive. If there's any quality about them I hope never changes, it's that.

the polyrhythms across the whole album are wild, highly recommend checking out the band members youtube pages like tim's to hear individual parts played out

At first impression, i didn't liked the vocals in the album, but after a couple of good listens, Fuck Around and Find Out and ABC really grew on me, tho I'd have expected more from Lil west and Chino Moreno, Bloodbath left me with that sensation of wanting more of a "metal" screaming vocals than just the cheesy ones we got. Pd: I'm not saying the Bloodbath vocals are all cheesy, just that heavy vocals being included in more parts of the song would've been cool.

still my favorite album from the band for atm :)
@carlchameleon98472 жыл бұрын
Well, what Polyphia "needs to have" in terms of having or not having vocals is completely separate from what Polyphia wants to do. I honestly feel that if one day they just completely stopped making any sort of music that I enjoy, I'd be fine with that, because they're doing what they find creatively fulfilling. :) Fun video by the way, you remind me of the soyjack meme

Honestly I loved the whole album except for momento Mori and fuck around and find out. Chimera for me tho slaps so hard I don’t know why, I think mainly cause lil west is towards the back end of the song and doesn’t over stay his welcome and he’s definitely way more melodic and energetic then the other two rappers. If you wanna appreciate chimera a lil more I’d say listen to the guitar play through of it on their channel, the chugs under lil wests voice, that you can’t hear to well otherwise in the studio version, are so chunky
@purposefilms99002 жыл бұрын
Here’s a better way to look at it. Don’t listen to the songs with features wondering how they will fit the song, instead ask how Polyphia will fit them cause they have managed to create so many incredibly difficult and unique songs using tons of different genres! I mean fuck idek what genre they are, whatever google says doesn’t sound right.
@RubixNoob19932 жыл бұрын
I had the exact same reaction to the entire album. I don’t like the mumble rapping, one note style of modern hip hop/rap so the middle tracks let me down a bit. Chimera still managed to pull through for me.

I'm not a fan of mumble rap either, but hopefully at least now I can trick my wife into liking Polyphia by playing it.

Not listening with headphones is where you went wrong. Cant listen to polyphia without headphones. U may have appreciated some of those middle tracks a lot more and not been so distracted by the meh vocals

I actually was going to, but for whatever reason the Jack on my PC stopped working. Very frustrating. I’m using studio speakers though so the sound quality isn’t too off, bass is where they mostly lack

@@FenriRock I thought the same thing, then used my best headphones and the songs really do sound WAY better and more full. Gave me a whole new appreciation of the album. If that were true why is that only like 3 songs from that album are ever talked about and the rest of the album is just kinda.... There ? If anything, Renaissance is their "best" album. From front to back it's straight bangers full of melody and memorable tracks like paradise, culture shock, Florence, euphoria, storm, Light (which later became the song Lit), nightmare, Ivory and bittersweet. NLND is great don't get me wrong but the only songs on it people remember are OD and goat really lmao
@miserirken2 жыл бұрын
@@justsomeguy727 Man i can't even remember a song from Renaissance besides Light (and mostly 'cause LIT). And i listened that album just two days ago. Meanwhile i'll try to name all NLND songs i can remember, let's see: OD and GOAT are obvious ones. Death Note 'cause Nito on it. So Strange 'cause vocals. Yas 'cause CHON. Saucy has the sauciest bassline from Clay G. i usually remember Drown but 'cause it's my least fav. Now gonna check out if i forgot any song. Bad, Nasty, and Rich Kids (sorry Ivette, i've failed you). Yeah those (plus Drown (again, i don't like Drown that much)) are just quite there, not bad songs, but hard to remember. Ps. Not doing this same thing with the new album 'cause it's fresh on my head atm, yet i can tell already in the future i'll forget to mention All Falls Apart when talking about RTYWD.

Vocals on this were far too generic. With the exception of sofia black, her song being the one I dislike the most, the other vocalists left so much to be desired.
