this version is so sweet, awesome and authentic. I don't understand why bollywood has to sex it up everytime there's a tamil remake, like us north-indians are all about innocent love too. we dig it. I have no intention to watch ok jaanu, i would choose to watch this over a 100 times than watching the hindi version. the music and everything goes straight to the heart. this feels like these two are actually in love while the ok jaanu version seems like two teenagers experimenting with sex!!

What you said was completely true. Mani Ratnam’s work of OK Kanmani was a beautiful piece of work that rooted to being mature and sensible while trying to say a revolutionary idea in a conformity world. That message being that two people can live together and love each other as long as it is a mature relationship yet happy one. This message was completely lost in the remake which I partially think was due to the director focusing more on the audience, teenagers, than the story, character or setting of the situations.
