I've wanted a game where you can play as or alongside dragons and this looks neat, but I'm not 100% sold after hearing unflattering things about the last few expansions. Namely how much daily grind there was and missing one day meant falling behind. At least I'm more willing to watch streamers play and cheer them on.

Yeah I haven’t really liked the whole falling behind the others thing. It’s like this snowball effect where you just continue to be ignored. Kinda forced you to join an active guild that meets your needs’

I'm right there with you on the grind, but so far, everything they have showed, and have said in interviews is there is no grinds like that in Dragonflight. The only borrowed power will be Tier sets, and the only grinds in the game will be reputation, and those have been revamped to work more like Renown did in Shadowlands. And even the Reputation grinds are optional, for cosmic things, nothing to do with added player power. The new Talent trees are how you progress while leveling, and give you a chance to customize your builds so much more than the old pick one of 3 on each row. You can change between different talent set ups at any time, outside of combat, so you don't need tomes to allow this. Changing Talents doesn't drain your mana so you have to sit and drink everytime you do so. A minor inconvenience, but it adds up over time. Now if you change specializations it does, but that makes more sense, as they game itself is having to readjust alot of numbers, so better to set your mana at zero there.
