The bin for color scraps. Is organized I think in the best I would use them too. Can’t wait to hear an update on how it’s working.

Hi Jenny. What a great sort job. It's a lot of work but feels so good once it's done. And the added bonus is you can pull from your scraps before cutting into a whole sheet -- yay. 😊🇨🇦

I cheated - I always sorted my scraps into color family and size, and I used them. But, I couldn’t keep up, and I got tired of the same bits! My girlfriend got into card making, and I offered her my sorted scraps, and she jumped at the opportunity. It cleared out my piles and helped her not to have to buy a bunch of paper until she figured out what she likes best. TFS

I'm only into your video by 3.30 mins and already everything you've said is resonating with me. I too could craft for years without buying anything BUT I love buying new stuff and I'm trying my very best not to do it anymore but its hard 😞. I've also stopped watching some crafters that show loads of new products, don't mind a few but it can detract from the actual crafting side of things. Love all your videos, especially using the 12x12's. Thank you for sharing 🙂

The way you did at the end is how I store my scraps, in plastic sleeves and I keep each one in front of my vertically stored paper by color. It’s awesome, I use the scraps more than the 12x 12 paper! So easy!

I have loads of scraps I have plain and patterned and I have a bag with the tiny ones which can be used for stripe designs and the others I have sorted into some draws on my desk now so they are there to grab for die cutting instead of me grabbing full sheets cutting them to fit in the die machine then having more scraps

Thanks! I just found your channel and you have lots of great ideas. It's great to see I'm not the only paper crafter that's has so many unorganized scraps. You inspired me to go attack that project.

Love this - mostly what I have done too (still need to use it so will be watching more of your videos) my OCD tendencies were screaming about the product labels 😂 I waste hours peeling off all the labels that things come with drives my other half nuts 😂

I'm just getting back into card making and started making journals a few months ago. I Love those bins from Micheals and have 12 of them already. I turned a bedroom into my craft room/studio and took out the closet doors and built shelves to help put my bins/boxes etc. Really enjoyed watching you sorting your papers as it gave me more ideas yet. ☺♥

I love organizing my scraps! I keep a clear plastic accordion folder next to my desk where I keep individual pockets of scraps of white, cream, black and gold card stock. I have found I do use these up. When I use up most of a pack of patterned paper, I use the scraps to make as many cards as I can. I really enjoyed watching you organize your scraps. ❤

If they are organizing and accessible, we'll use them.. that's my theory anyway!

I enjoyed watching your video and how you store leftovers. It was inspirational and it gave me a couple of ideas to try like the clear bin you Put scraps in and leave on your desk. So I will give this a try putting black and white scraps suitable for sentiments into a small clear bin right there in front of me on my desk so handy to quickly find a suitable size for a "Happy Birthday" etc. BTW your large pieces of alcohol ink backgrounds in dark blue are beautiful. I can hardly wait to see you use these pieces on a card. And if you have time some day to show your process for making these dark blue pieces. Glad to hear you sounding better after your illness after Christmas. From Ottawa.

I store my solid color scraps (except white) in an accordian file by color. I go to that first when I need solid colors.

I cut all larger scraps into A2 card fronts and keep them on my desk in a little 3 drawer desktop container. I try to use these for plain and simple cards 1st.
@Maribeth13792 жыл бұрын
That’s what I do too and it has worked beautifully for me. After all, a card front can always be cut down to a smaller size if needed, but it’s so much easier to store.
