What a rig. There wouldn't be a reason to stay home with a build like this.

Brilliant build out. This is as close to a Aussie Troopy build for North America that we can get :) A few points I noted 1. Using aluminum really helped save weight & space in the interior build and it look spiffy great job 2. This is now a great 2+2 tourer. Something to think about would be how can you enable 2 people to sleep down below (cozily) in a pinch. The fridge can get smaller, the alubox could drop to the footwell and you could make a tight but manageable stealth camper 3. A provision for a 200aH battery with an inverter would make induction cooking possible and much more safer cooking inside 4. My biggest pet peeve of the Gren is the small tank size. Are you guys thinking of some aux tanks? I know Brown Davis is working on one. You should add it to this fit out Overall an awesome build. Please think about expanding this layout to a 5G 4Runner and a Jeep JLU. Even without the pop top camper this would be a very welcome mod path for probably the biggest overland vehicles in North Americas (volume wise(

Holy f'n crap, that's beautiful work there. Seems like crazy $$ being spent there, but then people spend crazy $$ on van conversions, so there you go. I just love the ingenuity of it all.

Wow..this is amazing..any cost estimates for the total build like this ?
@jesmor32 ай бұрын
I think Silenus is about 15k, a similar build out for the inside would be 7-15k depending on how posh you want to go.

This is an excellent build thats well done. But whats the plan for winter use and cold weather? Any thoughts about how to prevent freezing of the water tanks and internal heating.
@ok4wdАй бұрын
Auxiliary heating is in the works! But there are plenty of portable heaters that work amazingly well.

Amazing, can’t wait for all this to be available. Quick question - how much height the roof conversion is adding from the original roof level?
@ok4wdАй бұрын
We can get back to you with a measurement this weekend at our Grenadiers and Coffee event here at the shop, but we can tell you it is shorter than the rooftop tent! If you are concerned about fitting in a garage, that will also be a concern if you plan on adding suspension and tires.
@barboravackova8364Ай бұрын
thanks appreciate if u come back to me with measurements :) yes absolutely tires and suspension play a big role. That’s why I would like to know only how much it’s added from original roof level as i know my current height. And i need to fit below 2.3m. Thanks!

How much weight you took away from car and how much weight do you introduce to the vehicle?
@ok4wdАй бұрын
We'll get those numbers for you.
@ok4wdАй бұрын
The weighed our Grenadier and one with a rooftop tent, factory rear seat, with a fridge in the trunk and our Grenadier with the full GP interior and roof conversion weighed 300lbs less! final numbers will be in a future video.

Yep! All looking wonderful apart from those HINGES on the front of the Alu-Cab roof ! Whats wrong with a black/matching colour piano hinge affair rather than those silver monstrosities ? Or at least powder coat them to match the roof... I think it mars what is otherwise a superb conversion.
@ok4wdАй бұрын
Good feedback. That's alu hinges have always been apart of the Alu-Cab design.

Again why put the water tanks inside the vehicle when the underneath the back has so much room
