I wanted to tell you that I too have a particular pony that looks like a prototype but I'm not sure, it's a Lily Valley from wave 17 the one with glitter but instead of having the head turned to the left is facing front and is a little taller than a normal figure.Thx

My Princess Celestia from my midnight in canterlot set had one hoof (the raised one) that was plain white and three yellow ones. I always assumed it was a mistake in all of the sets sold but it doesn’t seem the case. I coloured it in with a yellow marker since I didn’t like how it looked😂 Would this be classed as a factory error?

I've seen the weird Equestria girls dolls in a reel on Instagram, there was a collector comparing her with the released eqg dolls- specifically a rainbow dash. So they definitely were released in some form, or the collector somehow got ahold of the unreleased doll

YOOO! I had the glitter applejack too, I remember her and rarity being my favourites! I got them from an op shop, probably salvos or Red Cross, unpackaged and bundled together in a plastic bag! I can’t remember there being a full set so I think the shop owners just put them in different goodie bags like they still do. Really wild to have that childhood memory reignited, thank you!! And damn I wish I had that mermaid pinkie as a kid 🥲🥲

The movie itself was originally supposed to feature Lightning Dust's human counterpart instead of Indigo Zap. Guessing the doll prototype was made before the script was changed.

I didn't realize the later toys lost the bangs! I think I mostly collected wave 1 and there were lots of guides on how to "style" the hair to make it show accurate. Also always a little sad that after the first few waves Hsabro gave up making non-show ponies. I mean I do like the show characters of course but there was a certain charm to the non-show ponies like Cupcake, Snowdrop ect.

The very Tropical Pinkie couldve been a prototype of a background/ reimagined pony of the past (like the tropical pony you shown) as part of a big gift set kinda like how Minty was released?? That's what I thought of instantly but what would they do for that gift sets theme?? a tropical island like Butterfly Island in g3??? Also to look more into the Tropical ponies both Pina Colada and Hula Hula (the one you shown) fit the color scheme.

YOOO, I THINK I HAD THE PROTOTYPE CELESTIA, i currently still have it actually. Younger me would have been in love with the other version though. Like, i'm kinda weirded out by it, because i had always seen it in store, and I really wanted it when i was younger, and i was mad coz mine didn't have glitter on it's horn, but now i'm seeing this... AND i got it brand new, and never had the crystal princess palace (though i would have KILLED to have it), though i did have the original 2013 release, which i got when it was on sale a couple years later. But i did have that tea set that went with it, but i got it with the cadence's castle thing, which was YEARSSSS later, like, celestia was one of the first one's that i got, back when i was quite a bit younger, probably like 2 or 3 (i was very advanced when it came to that sort of stuff, like talking, and fine motor skills) and i have that hedgehog in that wagon, though i got it separately

Hi there! No worries at all! I did confirm after the video was published that both versions exist. At the time there weren't many photos available online of these so I wasn't sure what to think of them. As originally stated in the video, I figured it was likely a variant situation like the wave 1 blind bag twilight sparkle. This is why I put a question mark next to prototype because I couldn't confirm one way or another at the time. :)

I’ve found test samples of both but no unreleased figures. The EQG minis were made in Vietnam though and it seems that less prototypes get leaked out of factories there compared to the Chinese factories. So who know what could be out there!😄

I heard in another video about those factories that leaks were reducing because of employees that were stealing Transformers figures being arrested. However, the leaks have unfortunately been coming back previously and it's ruining the surprise of the new figures' official reveals.
