Ive heard people say they had issues with the first generation, and I admit that my P pickup in my first gen P7 5 died after 4yrs... But at its insanely low pricepoint for the quality, I bought it to be a starting point to customize it to my dream pbass, and NOW IT IS! Dropped a Nordstrand P pickup in there, all hipshot hardware, stewmac MOP topped knobs, and had a custom pickguard made of aircraft carbon fiber. It is a glorious bass!

I bought a Sire P8 a couple months ago - finally - after being burned again and again by Fender's shoddy QC. I absolutely love it. (And I'll give your sponsor a boost here too… I bought mine from Sweetwater, and they were great as always!) P.S. Yeah, the headstock… that's the main reason I waited so long to try Sire. @prestachuck28677 ай бұрын
I know it's a year later, so you probably have your answer by now. Here is my response anyway, in case anybody else is just now reading this. V7 is much more Jazz Bass like. I have a Sire V7 2nd Gen fretless, and Fender Player Precision LTD. The Player Precision is noticeably wider at the nut, and feels thicker from the front to the back from about the first fret to somewhere around the middle of the range, but only just slightly. Enough to really notice when playing at speed down below the 7th or 8th fret position. Where the neck joins the body, the necks are about the same thickness and width.
