Hi there!
Watch my review of the Sire V7 2nd generation.
I have some critique, but you´ll see, that overall, I absolutely love this instrument! ;-)
Watch and hear some playing examples, and I even included a short comparison to my 1973 Jazz Bass, as many of you asked about that!
Thx a lot for watching, please subscribe to the channel, to help it grow!

The problem with such reviews is that it would make me buy the instrument instantly, but then I remember that it wouldn't sound anywhere as nice in my hands 😒... Great skills and very nice instruments, thanks for sharing!

Thx a lot for your kind words! You are right, the fingers are the biggest and most important part of the whole sound. BUT, an instrument has to give you all possibilities to develop feel for good tone and technique. And the Sires most definitely do that! For a very good price! Stay safe and healthy!

Just purchased me the Sire MM V7 2nd Generation 5 string. OMG. Only been playing 2 years so I'm mostly still a novice compared to all you others out there who have been playing for double digit years but I have two other basses which I started out playing and which I will not name and they just do not compare to the V7. All I can say is this is a great fantastic bass. The kind that makes you want to practice all day every day. A little on the heavy side than what I am use to but that I will deal with that. The sound and quality of the bass makes all the difference. I thought my other two basses sounded great until I heard the V7 coming out of my amp. I am now in the process of upgrading my other basses to get close as possible to the V7. It has inspired me to do that. What a bass.

Watching this in 2021, i ordered a V7 Vintage just this morning. I play bass just for fun and i'm not too good at it, i have a cheap but good Peavy Milestone that i bought 6 or 7 years ago, i don't have much time and mental will to practise anymore, but today i decided to make myself a gift in these dark times, and i bought a V7 instead of a V3 or a Harley Benton (that was my initial choices). I play occasionally with friends or alone, and i think that this new Marcus Miller V7 will give some nice chills down my spine when playing.

What an amazing review, what an amazing bass, the most "Expensive" bass i have played is the Yamaha TRB505, i liked it but i really never fell in love with it and sold it, still playing my RBX774 made in Taiwan which i got for a $80USD 10 years ago in a pawn shop, i just ordered a Sire V7, im in love with its sound since i heard it at the Free Cover channel, sounds so good for latin music.

The screws for the battery cover could be improved by using press fit brass threads. Sire is the kind of company that will adjust this in their next ver. The cost of the threads is negligible but a very good update. Thanks for a very constructive and relevant review.

I love the Sire basses and hope to own one soon, but I would love to see them try their hand at a straight up passive 70s style J Bass. They sound amazing but I personally do not enjoy having that many knobs and controls on my basses. Also I believe this would create a better instrument for less experienced players. Imagine the nightmare of someone playing their very first gig with a Sire bass and simply turning all the knobs to 10 because they don't know any better. Great video though, thanks for sharing

Do you find them being a little on the heavy side?
@kingdeedee
@kingdeedee 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRainmanBachelor I've never played one myself, but I know a couple guys that use them regularly. From what I've gathered they're not somewhat heavy, but nothing crazy. I've seen online that they weigh between 9.5-10 lbs. I play a Stingray 5 mainly which is about 10-11 pounds usually, so I doubt I'd have a problem with them since I'm used to my bass. But it did take me some time to get used to it.

I subbed of course straight away :-) I love the green color very much, but don't think they make the ebony version in green :-( If you have tried the ebony version, can you describe the difference? I haven’t played the ebony version yet. But I’ll probably get a burgundy mist 5-string with ebony board, early next year. :-) There should be a difference, but not a huge one. The character of the bass is most definitely a very open and modern sound, mostly due to the electronics and the PUs! All the best!

Hey Michael, great review to begin with, thanks a lot! I have been playing with a big band for a while and I have realized, that I have to change my bass. (I currently have a Harley Benton MB-4, don't get me wrong, a great bass, but it just doesn't really fit the vibe and in my opinion a jazz bass is a lot more versatile, which can come in handy for me) So I have done research and I was unsure if I should get me a Squier 60s Classic Vibe Jazz Bass or V7. I have played both Squier and MM before, but they were different models. (Affinity and V3 respectively.) With Squier I had a better neck feeling and liked playing it a little bit more, but I recently played a V5 and I liked it as well. Still, I am quite unsure.. Since you mentioned having both of the basses, can you help me please? Thanks a lot in advance!
@MichaelSchmittEleven
@MichaelSchmittEleven 8 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thx a lot for your nice words! If I had to pick one, I'd personally go for the V7. But how one likes the feel, is purely personal taste. The Classic Vibe Squiers are amazing instruments (probably better in quality than some more expensive Fender offerings). And you will surely get a great bang for the buck. I love the pickups in the Sires, and especially the V7 is an extreme versatile instrument that offers everything from traditional vintage to super modern bass sounds. Maybe you could get used to the feel of the V7 neck...

Hey Michael, amazing review, very detailed. Can you tell me would a Sterling stingray be a better alternative to this one? Because I am just starting out , never played bass before. I am really confused between a jazz bass like this or a single hum bucker based bass like the stingray. Both have got active preamps. Again, great content, keep posting videos like this.

Get a jazz for versatillity, then get a stingray a few months/years later for that extra awesome mids (which is useless if you can't play)

Moin!
