Really enjoying your podcast. Hey I'm sure most of us absolutely understood what "MMMMMMPH" meant. I find it interesting that so many knitters feel they are introverts, but when talking about something they love really makes all the difference. Small talk and gossip... no. Knitting or gardening...YES!

Hi Summer! Totally new viewer going back and watching old podcasts. I’m obsessed with your personality and your video vibe. How fun and interesting are you?? I would love to knit all the socks in your book. I was so glad to hear that there is someone else out there who can’t do audio books. I have tried and tried but my mind wanders too much and I totally lose track. I’m new to sock knitting. I’m on my 3rd pair so I’m in the learning phase. I can’t wait to do more complicated designs. Thank you for all you do! Please keep it up!👍

I am so excited to get my sock book. I ordered it the day you mentioned it! Whoo…hooo! You are one of my sock designer heroes…not kidding. I am happy to see that you are a “ thrower”…So many knit continentally. Even though I am left handed, I can’t seem to get the hang or fluidity of a continental knitter. So…I knit English. I am the one who gets car sick , but I don’t like to drive. My husband makes me crazy. If the speed limit is 65, the cruise control is set at 64. Old men in rusty trucks pass us on interstates… So in order to not get sick…or divorced…I sleep. Works for me. Thank you for the trick you taught us! I’m definitely trying it! You are extremely talented. So….until next week.Keep on knitting….and reading, and designing.

I am here to say that your podcast is wonderful, and refreshing, and genuine and I love it all! 😊 It’s fantastic to spend a knitty moment with you, and it feels like I am sitting with a good friend! I love that you don’t take out the parts where you are just « you » even when they feel awkward because that’s what being authentic is, and it’s why we relate to you, because you are just like us 😊 I am French Canadian and speaking with lots of sound effects and with my hands is in my DNA 🙈 so I get it! Thanks for the tips you share too and I wish you a fabulous book launch and wonderful kind people on your tour! 🎉

Hi. I just recently came upon your podcast while searching for sock instructions for the beginner and so glad I did. I purchased your book and the suggested plastic sock blockers in each size from Knit Picks and started reading your book. I've only knitted baby socks (awhile ago) and tried crocheting a pair for me in a sock-along, but couldn't understand it all and ended up just doing Sc all around (no cabling). Thanks for writing the book and sharing your expertise with us. Now I believe I can enjoy knitting socks. 😊

Sock question here! Have you ever knit a sock using yarn that was not labelled or classified as "sock" yarn? And if so, how did it wear and/or would you do so again? Also on one of your other podcasts you talk about preppers and I totally feel you in terms of the anxiety and feelings of uncertainty at this time. It totally reminded me of a movie I recently watched called "Leave the World Behind" which stars Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke among others.

I started knitting socks about three years ago, self-taught with the help of KZbin. To date, I've made over 30 pairs for me and hubby. I agree that you just keep knitting vanilla socks until you feel that your've mastered it. I have your "Textured Slouch" socks on my needles now. Your podcast is now my favorite. Thank you so much for the tips and the tutorials are great. Just ordered your new book and can't wait to dive into it. One other reason to knit socks is to try different sock yarns and new techniques on a small scale...stripes, bobbles, colorwork etc. Please do a fade tutorial.

I have to have a knitting project solely for the purpose of distraction when riding shotgun with my husband! He will tell you that he is an excellent driver, but he scares the hell out of me sometimes. And I just have to remind myself that he's never been in an accident so the likelihood of him crashing is very low. Loved your sweater and the story of tracking down the pattern. I'm planning to attend your book signing at McKinney Knittery and am looking forward to meeting you in the flesh. Thanks for the great tips on colours changes on socks. Your So Basic Sock pattern has been my go to for years for heels and toes and now I love making ribbed/scrappy socks as well. Your version of the Rowan sweater made it better, in my opinion. I laughed when you described how you feel when hubby insists on driving. It’s me! I am a super nervous passenger (I think it stems from teaching my kids to drive). I always say it’s better to have a second pair of eyes while driving but, for some reason, the driver never sees it that way. Thank God for our knitting even if we just have the project bag clutched tightly in our fists. My question is: do you have fav podcasts you recommend? I love yours!

I am waiting with baited breath to receive your book from Amazon. Should come tomorrow. Yay! I’ve knit ONE sock before, years ago. I’ve been thinking about knitting socks for a while, and your book is going to help me achieve sock knitting proficiency. High expectations on my part. I, too, love pink and many other colors so I’m excited to get started. Couldn’t find size 2 needles in my town or in two stores the next town over. Grrr. So I ordered them from Amazon as well. I ordered yarn from Legacy Fiber Artz in Vermont and rolled the hank myself. Have now ordered swift and winder from Amazon to avoid that drudgery in future. Sensing a pattern here with regard to Amazon. Oh well, a necessary evil I guess. I am still excited. Wish me luck, Summer! It’s all because of you.

I laughed out loud when the caption about that was the dog sneezing appeared. Also Great tips. I am going to try the lifting up of the stitch leg on the row below the next time I make ribbed socks. I just finished some color work socks and there is definitely a mismatch on the row. This seems like such a simple fix. Also I hadn't thought about knitting a stockinette row to eliminate purl bumps.
