7 Days to the Wolves is also a great for Anette, as I think she does really well on it. Anette actually does a better job generally than she is credited for by the Nightwish community at large. She is still by far the weakest lead singer in context of the band. It is also difficult to find good footage on KZbin of her era, but it is out there. I actually think Anette was the best frontperson of the three because she seemed in the footage I have seen to interact more with audience

I think its time to move forward to the Wembley and Tampere 2015 shows now. Starting with Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley). Then follow the suggestions through the Wembley performances, ending with Poet and the Pendulum*^ Then on to Tampere, starting with Weak Fantasy*. Again, following suggestions until their last performance and epic 20+minute masterpiece- The Greatest Show on Earth* ** I cant really recommend anything pre Floor NW, because I've only listened to NW since Floor joined. While both previous singers are good, they aren't my thing and I haven't listened to a lot. I will be here to listen when you do react to them though, as I too may be hearing for first time. The only pre Floor thing I can suggest is the cover of Pink Floyds High Hopes, with Marco on vocals. * Songs will be better if you do some background research on what they are about and if you use ones with on screen lyrics ** Watch all the way to the end. Including the credits. ^ Only known NW song to get blocked on KZbin. Add in 3-4 pauses, 30s of reaction chat should do. Its a ~14minute song, broken into 5 acts. So if you have the lyric video it will be easy to pause at the end/start of each act.

Don’t get me wrong...Anette in the studio was FABULOUS, and I would definitely recommend anything she did on the two studio albums, but her live performances just weren’t on the same level as Tarja or Floor. As far as how you’re producing your videos...I guess I pay more attention to the actual content than how it looks, because I have thought they were totally fine since the first one I watched. No complaints at all. Now recommendations: you have yet to see/hear Troy, so I think I Want My Tears Back from Wacken 2013 would be good. Also, The Greatest Show On Earth live at Tampere is a must, as is The Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley (check out the lyrics to those two before you listen, though).

Anette was a breath of fresh air I didn't know I needed when Tarja left, I remember buying the CD (ha!) for Dark Passion Play when it was released and IMMEDIATELY falling in love with this woman who didn't overpower any songs, she elevated and blended and heightened the music. Her sweet beautiful candy voice with Marco was absolutely divine, and I drove for 4 hours to go see her live as soon as I could (she was replaced by Floor for my concert which is a whole different story but still)

fair point. i like your attitude, the way you keep away from fanboyism. with Tarja, most notably is the Phantom of the opera, or the Siren. "Sleeping sun" was done by both Tarja and Floor (dont know about Annette, though, because live her voice most of the times just didnt fit the material- although i respect her studio work with Nightwish), so it would be interesting to see how one sings different fro the other techinaclly the same song, but with different arrangements and vibes

Posted on a couple other videos some of the songs he he's either leading or featured very prominently. His range is surprising and he and Floor compliment each other far better than either of their previous vocalists. There's just a dynamic to this version of Nightwish that is just magic. And your edits are fine as far as I'm concerned. We all have our favorite version and lineup of Nightwish. Some are more vicious about their vision than others. I love them all for different reasons and seeing you go through your own journey to discover them 20+ years into their existence is really fun to watch. Keep them coming!

Hi Sergey. First off, thanks for the live stream last night. Really enjoyed it. The way I tend to think of Nightwish with their previous singers is that the songs are great when you hear them but once you hear Floor perform them, it raises the song to another level and makes it really hard to go back and hear the original recordings. That just may be me and my opinion and others may feel different. As for future songs by Nightwish that could end up being your favourites. Well there's "Shudder Before The Beautiful", "Yours Is An Empty Hope", "Weak Fantasy", "The Poet And The Pendulum", "The Greatest Show On Earth". That's just a few that could replace "Ghost River". Then there's the new album which is totally different to their previous work but still very much Nightwish. For Marco's other projects try "Stones". The thing with Nightwish is that most of the members came from or were part of other great bands, and they still are making solo albums and collaborations with bands other than nightwish. Floor even found time to do a full season of the t.v. show beste zangers. The nightwish story is very extensive, so it's a long and fun ride if you want to know (and learn about) the members, not just the band...enjoy the ride!

It is absolutely incredible seeing someone fall in love with NW for the first time (and then over and over again with every new song) NW reaction vids are literally the only ones I watch bc of that. It's sharing happiness. I'm glad you got to see Annette in action, (even if other fans were more adamant about this version) all three of them, Tarja, Annette, and Floor, have their own strengths and styles and I just love them all!!! Thankfully the, well,,, uh... passionate? arguments within the fanbase seem to have chilled out a bit in the last few years.(or at least I haven't seen them around) I don't usually comment on YT vids bc of shyness(but I wanted to share some general thoughts bc NW is so personal to me, really more than just music), and in the case of NW I've only been a fan since around 2007/8, so there are plenty of older fans who know what they're talking about better than I do LOL. There was still a lot of hate towards Annette when I was first listening to them which made me really sad. I understood that loosing the original fem lead singer must have been heartbreaking (I know it was for the band as well) I myself found it pretty disappointing knowing that I wouldn't be able to see Tarja era NW in concert in person. I was also sad later to see Annette go and was really worried about who would take her place (and what seemed to be the inevitable internet backlash. Oh, the internet. so angry all the time.) but then was blown away when I first heard Floor sing(everyone else was too it seemed, with good reason!!!)and so the transition to her seemed at least from the outside to be a little easier? Floor is certainly a crowd fav. Each change has been very bittersweet. And each of the past and present members hold their own special places in my heart. Honestly my greatest wish would be to see NW on tour with all of the members they've ever had performing together. Nightwish is the only band who's songs I can listen to at any time at all- there is no time where I'm "just not in the mood" to listen to Nightwish. And their music has helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life.... Just. I really love Nightwish and I'm really enjoying seeing your positive reactions to their music!!! I haven't seen all of your NW reactions yet, I'm trying to watch them in order, but if you haven't done them yet, "The Islander" is one of my all-time favs (I know the live vers are great but I'm still partial to the original recording/music video) and "The Siren" has such a wonderfully haunting sound! "Black Chest of Wonders" is an absolute BOP, and "The Escapist" holds its own special place in my heart! (I will stop there before I just name their entire discography...) And I'm certainly not asking you to compare singers, but when you listen to a song definitely check out the original vers as well! For Marco Hietala - Check out his solo album, Pyre of a Black Heart. Also check out his first band, with his older brother, Tarot. He was also in Northern Kings, and was with Conquest and Sinergy before Nightwish. Additionally, he was in a Black Sabbath tribute band as well as a Finnish "Heavy Metal Christmas" band ;) As well as being a guest musician with Delain, After Forever, Ayeron, and MANY others. The dude has been making music for almost 40 years now (Forming Tarot in 1984). He is BY FAR my favorite musician of all time (Although, I really love Jukka as well).

You should definitely listen to both Tarja and Anette performances. I’m not long time Nightwish fan but I went back to delve into their prior works when discovered them and I’m glad I did. You do get a better appreciation of the band by doing this. If ppl don’t like it then that’s their issue. This is your channel do what you want with it. Also, so agree with your Emppu comment ..he is very underrated as he is so tight and doesn’t do a bunch of flashy fretboard pyrotechnics all the time but his tone, his consistency, and playful spirit on stage is a key to them being as great as they are. And yes....Marko is amazing vocalist ...his voice is very unique.

Just remember that the NW fans will generally guide you down a path that optimizes your experience. They aren't just throwing out their favorites. You'll get to the others eventually if you follow their guidance. I've seen some reactors make the mistake of "doing their own thing" to their detriment. You only get one first listen. You do you, but realize that the fans have your best interest at heart here and only want you to have the best possible experience, with the benefit of hindsight on their side.

Floor and Marko both sing on the Ayreon live concert called Ayreon Universe live. Floor sings on many albums of Ayreon as do many very well known metal and hardrock musicians. See channel of Arjen Anthony Lucassen; he is Ayreon. Other channels cover it as well.

Annette is a great vocalist. She gets a lot of unfair scrutinies. With that being said, Floor is on another planet, vocally. She has both a lower and higher range than Annette which allows her to give the songs a really unique flavor that combines the best of all worlds. She breathed new life into Nightwish and I can't imagine them any other way.

Anette sings mezzo-soprano, which was a big problem for her in terms of really struggling with the higher notes. It's also why her voice cut through so well on the lower notes. And you're dead right, when she sang higher tones, her voice tended to become quite thin and had a shrill, shrieky tone to it.

Well done, hold the line. Annette is a real good singer, no doubt. But Floor, espacially live on stage, brings so much, she shines like a diamond . Anette has found a new home with her band, worth listening. The phantom of the opera is the choise when it comes to Tarja and her stage presence and Marcö's ability . And from the composer's view it has to be The gratest show on earth live at Tampere.

Annette doesn’t have a higher pitch voice but is a brighter tone soprano. Tarja was a darker soprano (typical for opera) & Floor is medium brightness but does vary more than the other two.

hmm Marko lets see. Tarot is his old band where he was lead vocals. Northern Kings is a collab with 3 other finnish metal singers where they cover classic rock and pop songs in a symphonic metal style. he has done collabs with Delain and a few other bands on singles. and last year he did a solo album during Nightwishes break.

Marko's (or Marco? I see it both ways, not sure which is correct) primary band besides Nightwish is Tarot. He also does solo work, and was in the supergroup Northern Kings. Marco has band Tarot and has a new solo album under his name. He also is a guest singer for numerous bands. I think she sounds lower in mix on purpose to make a more mellow sound. She can cut through if she puts her power in it.

Marko was first in band Tarot with his brother, Also he's done Song, Ääni, but u should listen English version of that Called voice of my father. Very good song and gives you shivers/tiers/and an "Markogasm".

Marco's old band is Tarot. He also did solo album last year called Pyre of the Black Heart. There is concert footage both Tarot and Marco solo on KZbin. For Anettes best moments i would recommend listening Turn Loose the Mermaids studio version.

I really love your reaction videos. You are very present and I enjoy your commentaries. Floor can easily pull off most of Tarja and Anette's songs, and has managed to push them to newer heights, particularly the live versions. However, there are a few songs I really love with the original singer: From Tarja: - Wishmaster (Argentina live version, even though it is not performed with Nightwish) - Phantom of the Opera (Really great chemistry with Marco there) From Anette: - Amaranth (official video) - Bye Bye Beautiful (official video) - Last Ride Of The Day (lyric video.
