it's interesting she gives off different colors of electricity effects, and more so she's refered to as purple lightening since some red and blue create purple. Red for jins effects and blue for the mishima's.

So many cool details! Reina’s theme is very similar to Kazyua’s Tekken 2 theme and her outfit half black and half purple - maybe a hint that she possesses the devil gene. There is also only one character who’s had yellow lightning and that’s Heihachi in Tekken 4. Her rage art both stomps and punches Kazyua into the ground (to his grave, basically) and given that Heihachi is dead, he pops up as a silhouette with his glowing red eyes.

in real life taido they want the practitioners to be fluid and creative so a lot of their moves can be linked, so this character will probably have a lot of moves that can be linked easily, from low stance to high kick easily... there is a lot of sneaky moves in taido but most moves can be read easily since they twist and turn a lot... evasion, gap closer and space creation is their thing, so she will probably like a more mobile lucky chloe with an electric

Charismatic + evil count me the f in! She’s giving me confident battle maniac vibes. It’s like she’s Bryan but taking medications on time. I also like her dual personality where she’s an innocent sweet girl then switches over to straight up cold blooded killer, you can see that on his interaction with Jin like how she switches personality in between.

@@projectfear22 I know of it, I do Kung Fu but I like to explore and learn about other styles and try to incorporate some moves in. There is a really good channel called ThisisTaido that I learned alot about it from. People say that Taido looks like Japanese Capoeira which isnt quiet true but they are similar. Ebi geri is the one move that I've manage to learn on my own from studying their videos. There is also a channel called Kurobi World that showcases the master as well. That channel explores martials arts in Japan. Which incidentally I believe the guy from that channel did the Karate mocap for Lidia Sobieski

After fighting the Reina ghost mirror...and using the alternate I can say with satisfaction I have succeeded in creating what could be her Ultimate Costume.

We don't know yet but it wouldn't make sense for her to not have a wavedash. Jin and Kazuya also didn't show wavedash on their initial trailers. Don't jump to conclusions too early. Reina is suppose to replace Heihachi and his mains are used to wavedash so I'm 99% sure she got wavedash.

I was always hoping the true female Mishima we would eventually get would have been Kazuya's daughter, since compared to Heihachi he was always comparatively more finesse vs Heihachi's brute power; and also create a dynamic where they like each other but are evil, making the villains sympathetic evil characters. Then you could retain Heihachi on the roster, keep him as a character for Tekken 2 flashback scenes or as an apparition Devil uses to haunt Kazuya to keep him angry.

She's cool, wish she was a bit older though, she obviously concerns Jin and even Kazuya who isn't intimidated by anything, but also she's like... in college, wouldn't look out of place with a backpack and some headphones, i guess she ended up with some really nice foster parents but that doesn't track with her attitude. For her backstory i imagine Heihachi abandons her like he does everyone and she grows up on the streets or in a dojo somewhere where she learned taido, so she might be resentful, a bit sad but also angry, wearing cheap clothing, instead she's like a young... i don't know, a teenage super villain who was generated yesterday, it's a shame she isn't a bit more believeable but she still looks really cool, i'll definitely use her.

i am happy many people like her. My first response was to cringe, largely because of what you said. she is a male archetype put on a female without any adjustments. just a slight tweak and she could have been an Azula, which would work well. the Heihachi-esque posturing as if she had a muscled body... without having a body like that just feels wrong to me. Just a tad bit less posturing, and a bit more "cold, calculating lightning"

Finally, finally...Harada woke up from his trance of identity crisis by launching an interesting, enigmatic, very cool character like Azucena and above all...with fighting qualities consistent with the Tekken franchise, which is what matters most, and Not like the previous Noctis 2.0 KFC bootleg colonel, cheap character with exaggeratedly fanciful attacks that have nothing to do with Tekken, Harada has reconsidered, it shows and satisfactorily closing the launch of new characters, excellent👊😆👍

One thing that really bothers me with Tekken's design philosophy as it pertains to Female Characters is how *ALL* of them have to be flippy evaders that don't play you standing up straight. I don't mind these characters as much as others do as it pertains to actually playing against them, I really don't. But as someone who's going to publish original fiction by next year, and actually appreciates what it means to have a diverse cast, I'm pretty sure the *FIRST* Female Character in Tekken that didn't do flippy evading, super low stances, or had a specific Gimmick over Martial Arts is Kazumi. I guess you could say Kazumi had Fly which was kinda Gimmicky, but if Fly is Gimmicky then Slide is definitely Gimmicky and I don't think Kazumi or Slide is. Kazumi is literally one of the only Female Characters in the franchise that fights you while standing straight up and isn't String-String-String (Like Anna and Nina) This is not great for the identity of each character, because if all Female Characters do flips, tricks, or have omega evasion, they don't feel that different from each other. Ironically the ones that feel the most different from each other and are clearly different characters than the rest of the Female Cast are Kazumi (Because she fights while standing up straight) Lidia (For the same reasons as Kazumi and I wish she weren't fighting with Karate because Tekken already has a billion Karate representatives) and Alisa (Because she's a robot who fights with Chainsaws) I think Reina is pretty cool actually, but she's made a lot less cool by the fact that she's doing flips and low stances like literally every other member of the Female part of the roster. I understand that's just what they went for, but it doesn't have as much immediate visual clarity. Someone like Steve, Jin, and King couldn't be further from each other, but Female Characters often feel closer than they don't in the visual identity on their attacks. I don't think it's a coincidence that people are immediately making comparisons to Asuka, and I don't think that's necessarily a good thing to be so quick on the draw and be like: "Yeah! She's just like this other character we already have!" Maybe I'm reaching and being a Debbie Downer, but I would appreciate it if the Female Characters literally just stood up straight and fought. That would go HARD. I think she's cool, has potential, and is interesting. But I guess there's more cynic in me than I thought there was. :/

The design is generic, the evasive moves are boring, the electric is completely out of place. It's just another female character and you know exactly the type of people who'll play her. You won't see her doing electrics since that's a hard input for that type of player.
