Unless I’m terribly mistaken, that sort of behavior in a cat tends to indicate that they view the target as a potential playmate. Either that, or she finds Korone particularly fascinating/vulnerable.

If they’re going into “predator” mode and _not_ exhibiting aggressive/warning signs first (revealing teeth, hissing, ears flattening), then that usually means they aren’t “angry.” Just intensely excited for some reason. From Okayu’s description, it sounds like Temanyan is just super-enthusiastic about Korone in particular.

You are on to something there. Some say dogs and cats are REALLY great at picking on person's energy. Korone is energetic person, so maybe Temanyan picks up on that energy and gets excited. Another study tidbit is that cats can't literally handle with being so content. One of the many possible explanations why belly rubs usually end up with some clawing. The chomping part usually happens to people that ain't living with the cat too.

My idea is that Korone might smell funny for the cat. It doesn't have to be a bad smell, but if it's different than what they're used to cats sometimes respond with excitement. It can be some certain spice, washing detergent, dirt, other animal smell, or just how she as a person smells.

If the cat isn't hissing, the "predator" mode is probably a "play" mode that a cat shows when it wants to play. You know, like when a kitten plays with its sibling. Temanyan probably is comfortable around Korone to the point she goes "hey, doggo! Let's play!"

Not sure if the "wiggle" bit is correctly translated or not. If it is, cat wiggle in pounce position is usually more of a playful pounce. If they're in predatorial/defensive stance, they're not likely to wiggle. Sounds mostly to me like Temanyan sees Korone as a playmate she recognizes, whereas she's more well behaved around the others as she's not as familiar and is still in her cautious socially adaptive state with the others. My sister's cat treats me with a little bit of wariness as I've been the one most likely to teach it new ways to stalk/surprise, but at the same time, her cat when in a scared/panic state calms down faster if I'm around, whereas she'll go back to my sister for comfort/spoiling. Naturally, I've become the target of her little stalking/ambushing play, but while the claws occasionally pop if she gets too excited, she won't bite or swing to hurt me either(lots of paw whacks/smacks and grabbing bites without clamping force). Cats are funny creatures prone to more lofty behaviors, but they're really just as social as dogs. They're just not as extroverted and as such require less active attention.

my cat (and all cats really) also exhibits the behavior she's describing when she wants to play. the wiggling before pouncing, the widening of the pupils and such. animals in general are pretty damn good at sensing someone or something's energy, so she may just sense korone's bubbly energy and sees that as a playmate, whereas with others they might be more reserved and not come as often, idk the situation, but if they don't they're generally more afraid of them so they go into hiding or they're well behaved in this case if this is the case that's really adorable. it's like she's saying "doggo! let's play!!"

So real talk. That behavior is just playfulness. Animals can usually sense people they can really mess around with and it goes for dogs and cats alike. I adopted a cat from my friend and this cat is a lot more rough playing with me and even swatting at my legs sometimes when I'm just walking past. It's not an attack, just play.

A more realistic reason to why this could happen is that a cat's ears are way more sensitive to noise than humans. And Korone's voice is really high, especially when she laughs. So for the cat Korone's voice is just too much to handle
