My Flame/Glorioso grew to over 8 feet tall this year, with continuous blooming for over two months. It was over-wintered as I have never dug a tuber. I don't even remember when I planted it, but we have lived here for 29 years! It also spread it's pollen around my little yard, so now I have about eight new climbers! I need to know when and how to harvest tubers to share with my friends. (I am in San Diego, and we had an excessively hot and humid June, July and August.)

The “May grays and the June gloom”. I spent only 3 months in San Diego but I have such fond memories. There, La Jolla and Sunset Cliffs as well. If the tops of these die back at any time that would be the best time to lift and separate. If not then I’d imagine anytime after the bloom period?

Just came across your vid. Terrific info. Do you have a nursery/dealer that carries them? Bought some on line from a dealer in Maine that I was unhappy with. They were half the size of yours and quite thin. Live just south of the "Red" in zone 8a and was told they would survive here. Thank you for any help you may offer.
