Leticia Goode, No. Forever Low-Temp Laser Dark, while designed for OKI White Toner printers, can also be used in a color laser copier or color laser printer that can run a transparency film.

I have an OKI C610 and need to find out the color settings I should use. There are tons of choices and I'm clueless. :) The designs I'm printing do not have any white in them. Thanks so much!

Hi guys, once again thanks for your time, I have a slight problem, I just purchased some of the transfer paper within this video 'LaserDark Low Temp' and for some reason my white print is mockled, or I do not get a solid white output in all areas, I think I am getting used to the OKI 711WT so was a little surprised when I did not get a perfect solid white, the instruction sheet said to set the density to -3, but to be honest whichever setting I choose I have the same issue, I am sure you have come across this before so any advise would be fantastic. Also I do not have this issue with other transfer papers that are not transparent, though I must say the the emulsion sheet gives much less issues than others I have tried, it's just the mockling that I do not understand, I much prefer the forever brand and really appreciate your help. Thank you.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Skynepsis Could you please define "mockling", or send photos of your output to support@conde.com for analysis?
@Skynepsis9 жыл бұрын
***** I have done that, thank you so much for taking the time.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Skynepsis First check the resolution of your image. If the image is below 150 or too far above 300 then you should try to change the resolution of the image to that range and see if you get better results. This will probably be visible before the two sheets are pressed together. If the resolution is between 150 and 300 DPI then it is probably drop out due to pressure. Increase the pressure slightly when pressing the two sheets together. If you start to see white crusting on the area outside of the image area then you have too much pressure.
@Skynepsis9 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you! I have been running at 300dpi since I got the printer, and I am afraid it is visible before I press the sheets together, I hoped the mask would hide it but it didn't, I did notice also that on the instruction sheet it said to set the white driver to -3, but I was then advised that it should be +3 so I thought I would give it another go, but when I checked the driver setting it is already +3 so I think I already tried it because I haven't changed anything since my last print, it's a shame because I am so impressed with the durability, everything else that I have tested is nowhere near as good with regards to crack resistance, I have tested plastisol and the forever laser dark seems just as strong on stretch tests, and I know it's not the brand because I have seen so many people achieve brilliant results it must be something else.
@Skynepsis9 жыл бұрын
Skynepsis Case closed! it occured to me that I had been given the wrong density setting and that maybe just maybe I had not tested -3, I changed it to -3 and it worked like a charm, this transfer media is superb, thanks again for your help.

Condé is currently evaluating foil products. If we decide to carry foils, we will definitely shoot a video showing how to use it with these self-weeding paper products.

Nice instructional video Condé! I have one more question about printer setup, what are the used toner density settings configured in the printer (menu/calibration)? Are you using cy0 ma+2 y+1 wt-3?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
To reset the "White Darkness" on an OKI C920wt: (1) Press MENU button, (2) Press and hold DOWN ARROW until "Calibration" is highlighted, then press ENTER, (3) Press and hold DOWN ARROW until "White Darkness" is highlighted, then press ENTER, (4) Press DOWN ARROW until setting reads "-3", then press ENTER. An asterisk (*) will appear in front of the number, meaning the change is now set, (5) Press BACK arrow until display reads "Ready to Print".

I just bought OKI C711WT. I have issue to print. First, take about 3 minutes to print 1 page. I using adobe photoshop CS6. Is that common issue? and second to using heat press. I always fail. I tried too many times about 20 times. I set the time and temperature was 90 sec and 320 F . All transfer paper I bought from Conde.
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
First, in regard to print time, understand that the OKI has to "process" your file with it's internal processor and memory. An OKI C711wt comes with 256MB of memory, but can be expanded to 512MB to improve processing performance. If you are sending large files to your OKI, you may want to consider expanding the memory. Second, in regard to the FOREVER Low-Temp Laser Dark, please provide photos in an e-mail to support@conde.com for help with your issue.

+NOLA Chic Some suggestions: (1) Allow your press to get to proper temperature (310-330F) before dropping your platen. (2) Increase your pressure by 1/4 to 1/2 turn on your heat press. (3) Slow peel the B-sheet from the A-Foil.

Any comments on washibilty of the product? Will it hold upto 25 washes ?
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
We perform wash testing by taking printed shirt and running them through "hot wash" and "hot dry" for 25 cycles. From wash testing we performed with FOREVER Low-Temp Laser Dark, we noticed some image cracking after 25 cycles, but the color fastness of the transfers tested very well. That being said, you should ALWAYS perform your own wash testing, because varying water conditions may have an effect on the durability of any transfer product.

Very interesting transfer materials. Are these film transfer works only on OKI printer? This machine cost the earth. Any alternative? Thanks.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Chan Mon Anrie Technically speaking, FOREVER Low-Temp Laser Dark can be used in any Color Laser Printer or Color Laser Copier that can feed a transparency film. However, you may only be able to work with "base colors", and cannot use bitmap, gradient or halftone artwork. For a better explanation, please refer to our "Neenah ImageClip Laser Dark - Video #6".

is it a heavy feel on your skin when printed and warn like the Opague paper used by an Ink Jet Printer ?
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
When you remove the film sheet from the garment, the Low-Temp Laser Dark will feel similar to a heat-applied vinyl. However, if you cover the exposed design with a silicone sheet (removes gloss) or Teflon sheet (keeps gloss) and repress at temperature for an additional 10-15 seconds, then the image will soften on the fabric. The feel will be similar to a garment decorated with silk screen or direct-to-garment printing.

Hi again, Thanks for your time, I am struggling with a few concepts, I want to buy a variation of printers so that I am not limited, I have a question regards the OKI printers, I cannot afford to add a 711wt to my range due to other stuff I have to buy, so my question is: if I buy a Oki C610 for example can I use self weeding paper and is it possible to add the white emulsion using the transfer method? and will it stick just to the printed area? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, when it comes to the self-weeding transfer papers we offer, you have to be able to physically print white in order to transfer white. If you choose the OKI C610n, you could use Neenah ImageClip Koncert-T paper to produce a white graphic to a colored garment and Neenah ImageClip Laser Dark to produce a color graphic for a colored garment. You just will not be able to combine these two within the same design.

***** Well thank you anyway! here in the UK the print trade is really hard to get into, one of the main problems is for example the cost of a blank T-shirt, T-shirts sell so cheap on e-bay and other outlets it's hard to know which printer to choose, in your opinion would I be better with sublimation or laser? laser does not seem to be used much for mugs or other hard substrates, on the other hand it looks more proffessional and covers more garment options, have you transfered laser to mugs? also I would just like say your page is fantastic and I love how quickly you reply to questions and would love to know if you export to the UK? and if you don't mind me asking in your opinion am I better going out and finding business clients rather than using sites like e-bay? is sublimation a area that I can pick up large orders or am I better with a shop? thank you.
@Skynepsis9 жыл бұрын
Skynepsis Appologies for getting all carried away, I am just on the verge of starting up and really want it to work, but choosing the right printer type is so hard.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Skynepsis We do sell to the UK,but you have Nova Sublimation Co and they would probably be cheaper. We require bank wire transfer or American credit cards. It seems sublimation would suit your needs, it just has some caveats: everything you imprint must be either polyester or poly coated. Yet, you can get started easily with sublimation. Our entry level printer and ink is only $525, with paper. Heat presses are more expensive, you should get a good one, at least 16x20 and that could be $1000- USD or more. But, with the smaller printer, you could make mugs (in an oven with wraps), imprint shirts or a host of tiles, name badges, key tags, etc.... Transfer paper is mainly for cotton or blend shirts, not so good on other items. Good luck, watch more videos...

Can you reuse the silicone sheet that you used as a part of the finishing step?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
Silicone sheets can be reused, as long as no toner accumulates on the sheet. Once this happens, you should use a fresh sheet.

Hi What are the recommended settings on the printer for an oki c810 also will this paper work? Thanks
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
+Shaz s If you want to use this product, your color laser copier or printer must be able to run a transparency film. So, set your media type to "transparency" or "films". Make sure the toner is properly bonding to the media. Also, be aware that not all colors may work with this product. For more information, please view "Neenah ImageClip Laser Dark Transfer Paper - Part 6" on CondeTV. While the video is about Neenah ImageClip Laser Dark, the same principles will apply with this product.

Can I assume the settings are the same for the 711WT?
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
That is correct. Driver setting are similar for the OKI C711wt if you run this paper. Also, remember to set the "White Density" on your OKI C711wt to (-3) before running any transfers. Please contact Condé or refer to other "White Toner" videos for the White Density / White Darkness procedure.

Hi, I have some questions: Can this method be used on none darks? example could I just use this as my standard method? also I noticed the image on the dice was really fine so what are the OKI laser printers like for photographic? I have not seen anyone do a photo yet which would be a shame since the market is large, lastly how many washes would you get before the image breaks up. Many thanks.
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
Technically, Forever Low-Temp Laser Dark can be applied to any material color. However, there are less expensive transfer papers for applying graphics or photos to white or light-colored garments. While OKI printers can be used to produce photographic transfers, they only print at a 600 x 1200 dpi image resolution, and the pixel pattern will not blend the dots together to create true "photo-realistic" output. In regards to wash testing, we have tested Forever Low-Temp on cotton shirts wash 25 "hot washes" and 25 "hot drys". While there was some cracking to the designs, we were impressed with the color retention of the transfers.

+Conde Sublimation can you use a black and white oki printer to print images on these transfer papers?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын

There is no such thing. Sublimation is done with a printer set up with sublimation ink, then you hot set it with a heat press. It sounds like you want a 25" printer. The one we sell for that size is the Sawgrass Virtuoso VJ628. The heat press that fits it is 25x32", the DK32 by George Knight.

How do these items wash?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
Our standard here at Condé is to test for 25 hot wash / hot dry cycles on 100% cotton garments. After 25 cycles, you may see some cracking within the design. This would happen to any "surface decoration" printing method. However, we were pleased at how well these transfers retained their color after 25 cycles. In short, the image should last as long as any screen printed image.
