i have a OKI 920wt & a 910 and have had the worst luck using 2 step paper when it first came out. (i had one of first ten 920wt to come from japan to the states) havent used it in 3 years or more. Hoping these work better the image clip junk you pushed then. Ready to push it off the counter and on to the floor if this dont work. should have already bought a DTG by now. Giving it 1 more try! fingers crossed!

how many wash and how long lasting ??

Great video. My question is... the bitmap image, does it have a paper feel to it once complete. I was told you should rasterize those bigger images to receive a softer feel and not paper feel. Apparently rasterizing the image also makes for longer life when washing the shirt.
@condesystems3 жыл бұрын
Rasterizing larger images (including bitmaps) is ideal for softer hand and better wash durability. If you are decorating a white shirt, then "screen for bright media" in the FOREVER TransferRIP. If you are decorating a black/dark shirt, then "screen for dark media" in the FOREVER TransferRIP. If you are decorating a color shirt, then "micro mask" in the FOREVER TransferRIP. Refer to this FOREVER TransferRIP tutorial for more information: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6vRp4Glerp9jLc

I have had problems with customers saying the picture area is too thick and feels like plastic. It makes them sweat and the shirt to stick to them where the image is. I've noticed if there is empty space in graphics it's fine, but large pictures like this lady are the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@condesystems7 жыл бұрын
You need to look at the FOREVER Transfer RIP and how to rasterize graphics for White Toner Printing. Rasterization of the graphic will allow for a softer image with less image cracking. Please see our video on the FOREVER Transfer RIP on CondeTV for more information.

At 12:13 I see a white line on the left side of the design. Does this come off or is the shirt ruined because who would want to buy completed shirt with a white line going down the side of their design?
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
+Berkshire Embroidery Since the B-sheet is cut smaller than the A-Foil, it sometimes leaves an indention line around the edge of the A-Foil after removing the B-Sheet. You should trim away the border before you apply the transfer to the garment. Obliviously, Doug must have missed a spot.

Is it necessary to have two machines, one for light and one for dark? If so, do you have a recommendation for a printer for light garments?
@GarySThorpe8 жыл бұрын
The Conde Low Temp Laser Dark shirt (the first one) looked like it had unintended white toner 'spots' on the shirt. I also noticed those same type of white spots on the Las Vegas shirt you produced on another video with the Okidata 920WT-- you have to look carefully, but they are there. The shirt produced with Neenah paper for this video didn't seem to have these extraneous white spots. In my opinion, those white spots make the shirt unsellable--- I don't think any customer would accept a shirt with white toner spots on it. Can you comment on this? Is this a frequent problem? I'm thinking if YOU end up with a shirt with white spots on it, then how would I be able to produce a shirt without them everytime---- remember, a mistake in this process ends up by throwing away the shirt and what it cost but also the expensive paper and cost of the toner.
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
+Gary Thorpe........... Allow us to explain. The "white dots" you see were caused by the transfer sheet making an "indention line" on the imaging sheet. This "symptom" can happen with ANY self-weeding dark garment transfer. The easiest fix is to trim the edges of your design after weeding before applying to your garment.
@GarySThorpe8 жыл бұрын
+Conde Sublimation I thought I saw Doug discussing this and taking scissors and do some trimming and throw the scraps away on the video. And why when doing two shirts, would that white toner spots appear only on one shirt and not the other if he was doing the same technique, just using different paper?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
+Gary Thorpe.............. Dear Gary, when trimming the paper, I missed one spot. The lines appearing on the shirt was that missed spot. We are not trying to mislead anyone. Please accept my sincere apology, and I will do my very best to ensure that mistake never happens again.
@GarySThorpe8 жыл бұрын
+Conde Sublimation Thanks. That helps. I talked to Forever at ISS Long Beach and they said they would be coming out with a true 12 1/2" x 19" Forever Laser Dark paper in a few weeks. The problem they said was finding a box to fit it??? That increase in size is making me consider the Oki now along with the new lower temp paper. And, I like the RIP software that puts the pinholes in the print to give the image a softer hand. It's beginning to come together now for me. I tried Neenah 3G transfer paper for darks- feels like rubber and then I compared it to the feel of the Oki shirt--- very different. I saw that Oki makes a CMYKW printer (but only available in Australia) and it costs $30K.

Thanks for this! Just got an Oki, and I've yet to use it. One question...what does 'cool' mean? Peel when the shirt is cool, does that mean room temperature or under 200 degrees? What is 'completely cool?' Thanks!

Room temperature.

Likin your simple, step by step directions. Was wondering if you need any certain type of heat press to use the transfers from this printer? And can you just go to Fedex/Kinkos to use these printers, and take home the transfers to press? Or would that be too easy lol
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
...............We definitely recommend using a "swing-away" heat press for the self-weeding transfer papers. You will need to contact your local printer to see if they are willing to run these papers for you. Inform them that one paper (Neenah ImageClip) weighs in at 150 grams per square meter (gsm). The FOREVER Low-Temp Laser-Dark must be used in a "transparency film" mode.
@Unz3608 жыл бұрын
+Conde Sublimation ok thanks I'll note that. why swing away? and is this kind of an advanced method? I'm a mere novice to it all
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
There are three kinds of heat press designs for shirts (there are also mug presses, hat, cube, etc.). The three are 1) Swing-away 2) Clamshell 3) Drawer. The Drawer is a wide format (25x32"). The clamshell is just that, it opens and closes in a clam motion. This makes it unusable for a lot of plaques or thicker items as they will "pinch" and not heat evenly, it is only used for shirts. The swing away swivels on a pole and swings away from the platen and is adjustable for height.

Why would you need a white emulsion sheet if the printer prints in white?
@condesystems9 жыл бұрын
+Jonathan Tynes The emulsion sheet is the "glue" that pulls the toner off the transfer sheet onto your garment. It is white because it can be an "opaque background", which allows your image stands out against a dark fabric.

you must have asbesto fingers! that stuff is soooooo hot when you open the press to peel the A and B papers apart!

what about the washing resistance using forever laser dark ?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
+Omar Ghalem ................We perform wash testing by taking printed shirt and running them through "hot wash" and "hot dry" for 25 cycles. From wash testing we performed with FOREVER Low-Temp Laser Dark, we noticed some image cracking after 25 cycles, but the color fastness of the transfers tested very well. That being said, you should ALWAYS perform your own wash testing, because varying water conditions may have an effect on the durability of any transfer product.

We recommend you contact OKI direct at (800) 654-3282 for support. You will need to provide the serial number of your unit to OKI. The serial number is printed on a white sticker on the back of the printer. OKI Tech Support should be able to assist you with this issue.

Great video.how does the transfer feel on the garment.i use inkjet opaque paper and the feel of the transfer is like newspaper spray glued to the shirt,it's not very comfortable,siser easy weed is a very light feel and soft that is what I would like to have in a transfer paper. I would appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

My suggestion would be to request an OKI "White Toner Sample Pack" from your Condé Account Manager. The sample pack will have various transfers from the system that you can apply and judge the feel of the transfers for yourself.

In many cases that is not needed, please check out our website at www.conde.com/

can the paper be used with any laser printer or strictly Oki? thanks this is exactly what I need.
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
Any, but it won't print white.
@sally9698 жыл бұрын
What do you mean it won't print White as in white garments or white text?
@condesystems8 жыл бұрын
Since you are not using a white toner printer, it will not have any white ink, so white text or objects in your design will "fall out" and not print. The whole point of the White Toner Printers is the white ink.
