I'm a bjj/mma guy. But when karate is taught correctly it can be very effective. These strikes in that kata(s) are nasty. Must respect to these two Goju masters.
@Kingtrollface259

Trust me that guy has turned his body in to a deadly weapon, them strikes are no joke, traditional karake conditions the body and bones over time to make them super tough, this is why he can repeatedly hit without pain to his hand which would break an average persons trying to hit with that force

I don't understand your "but". First of all BJJ is nothing more than a type of judo. Nothing to do with karate. Two distinct things. Second MMA IS NOT A MARTIAL ART. It's just a kind of competition.

All their punches would have hit them in the face if they would have been really directed watch every time they aim above his head or to the side neither one would have been able to block anything.
@kbanghart
@kbanghart 5 жыл бұрын
Well yeah hopefully in a real fight, the punch would get through. But in kumite, if you practice it enough with your partner, you can through full force right at the target and still won't hit, because your partner will know the speed and power that you're coming and not get injured.

No disrespect but a boxer will still beat the shit out of this. The way karate blocks are made they were adapted from white crane. But they changed it to suit them to fight an opponent with a weapon(samurai). Such type of blocking is not suitable today.
@FiasaPower
@FiasaPower 2 жыл бұрын
But how many boxers would try to randomly assault them in the streets of life? If this possibility is nearly zero, why should a martial artist even bother? This kind of argument ignores that traditional martial arts were tailored to save practitioners asses from random assailants as fast as possible, not to defeat superhuman boxer/MMA guys in rings or whatever. So you use the right tool for the right situation. If your objective is being capable of defeat a professional boxer, then go train boxing. There's room for everybody in martial arts world and every system, no matter how complete it intends to be, will have it's weak spots. Osu and happy training to us.
