Lucky OU didn't make the same mistake with Gavin as they did with Wes Welker. OU offered Welker as a preferred walk-on too and then Tech had a scholarship open up and offered it to Welker. Welker was the Oklahoma Player of the Year his senior year and Stoops whiffed on him.

Yo, you took my advice on looking at his highlights! He is one to watch out for over the next few years. He has a chance to be really special. He was only offered by Tulsa, Texas Tech and Air Force and had a full ride at Texas Tech. People overlooking this kid because he is from a 3A school. OU offered him a few days before final singing day as a PWO and he took it because it is his dream school. His father also played at OU in the 90s. Excited isn't even a good enough word to use for this kid. He'll be on scholarship before we all know it.
