This car is an amazing find. I am glad that you decided to save it from the junkyard. It was my choice of the ones you showed of all of the 1959s. That is of course because, as I shared before, my dad had one just like this one when I was a little boy. Thanks for sharing this. I wish we could save all of the ones you showed in your previous video, but alas, I am not a rich man, or I would be down to Bud's Salvage in a heartbeat. I am hoping that a lot of people start pulling more of the project cars out of his salvage yard. He has some great ones and some that really do deserve to be restored. Great work on your video series of his salvage yard.

I have the same memory from my childhood except that it was the '59 Pontiac Catalina that my Father had. It was his "work" car that he commuted in while my Mother used our '63 Nova (Chevy II) wagon to do "mom" stuff. He previously had a yellow '53 Chevy as his work vehicle that we, as kids, called "Mustard" and ironically, the Pontiac was a very faded red that we called "Ketchup". Thanks for taking me down memory lane.

After digging the car out of the ground, amazingly it is more rust free than I thought. Looks like the rockers seem good. Floors are not a problem. They are doable for sure. Great job picking out the 59 flat top, I'd say that would be the one I would have picked to. I tend to lean more towards to the big sleds of the late 50's and early 60's but I still like them all. My last build was a 65 buick wildcat 4 door hardtop that turned out sweet with the patina look. I have to agree with some of the other comments to, put it together and drive the wheels off of it. But I also understand that you have to pick and choose on which one's to keep, meaning you have so many choices. Lol. Keep up the great work and I'll see you on the next video.

Back in the early sixties, I had had a few cars already. The yellow 58 ford four door that shows quite a bit in this video including at the very last was one of my first cars that had come from a estate sale and parked in a garage since 59 early. I tore it up and feel bad about it to this day some of the things I did put it through. It had for a fact that can or could be traced as a car given to a retiring officer so all the high horsepower was in that 352 and it was so dang pretty on the valve covers "Police interceptor" with 11.2 compression heads. I have been told repeatedly that is never happened but it damn well sure did. It almost locked up because the engine wasn't really broken in and with high power compression heads, took a good battery to turn over. I am serious as a heart attack... I should of taken the best care possible of it as it was a actual new car in most sense of the words. Of course its one of very many as I had a bit of money and no one got much for cars back then!!!!

While many consider more door cars as having 2 doors to many, I find a number of 4 door cars actually look better than their 2 door counterparts. It depends a lot on the proportion and shape of the roofline and windows. Also placement of the trim helps a lot. A good example is the 60’s Lincoln continental. The 4 door looks better than the 2 door because of how the glass and roofline fits. A 1967-68 Pontiac 4 door hardtop fastback is a very nice looking car.
@melissadunagan65962 жыл бұрын
Lots of GM 4 door hardtop look good. And may be more raier than 2 door hardtops.
@dyer2cycle2 жыл бұрын
..a 4-door hardtop '59-'60 looks better than, not only a '59-'60 4 door sedan(post), but also the '59-'60 2 door sedan(post)..the 4-door hardtop had a low, swanky look that suited the '59-'60 styling well..the sedan(post) cars had a higher roof, taller windshield, and a lot of framing that looked stodgy and contrary to the sleek styling...the same thing hold true for the '55-'57 Chevy, IMHO...
@charlesatwell66582 жыл бұрын
When that was left in the junkyard it was probably only worth whatever parts could be sold, maybe a few hundred bucks! Now it's not super valuable but definitely worth fixing, hope it happens soon!!!!!
