Super informative video! I remember asking about your setup a couple months ago. I went back on your channel and rewatched a bunch of episodes where I found the ones of you building this. You do some nice work, looking forward to future content and builds!

Thank you! Glad you went back, there’s a lot more in-depth Info on the setup while I was building it

Do you guys have a video how to swap from spindles to 4 or 5 lug in rear?

Curious what pully ratios you were running prior to the addition of the 90 degree box. Thanks

@okoffroadmowers what are your opinions on running double groove pulleys with (2) identical parallel 1/2" belts. Im building a pretty large all custom tractor with a ~100 ft/lbs of torque @ 2750rpm motorcycle V-twin. It sounds like a good idea to me. Thoughts? Edit: I'll also be using this tractor for work, ground engagement, offroading, pulling trailers, etc.

I have mud mower i'm revamping need better trans axle but don't have ability to make it? Is there a way to talk to you directly ? Thanks , would like to wheel again 😁
@cole8557 Жыл бұрын
Great video. Do you use wheel spacers on the rear hubs to push the wheels out? My wheel horse with 12x4 would be completely under the fender. Thanks
@okoffroadmowers Жыл бұрын
Yes musty runs 2” rear wheel spacers

Hey ryler I have some questions I have a mtd transaxles with fnr and I was wondering how I could convert them over to a off-road transaxles because I live in Kentucky and then transaxles is all I can find around here because no one around here has geared transacle for sale an I can't find one no where and the one I have found is to much for my bank account so I was just wondering how to convert them over

Hi can you send a link to where I can find a 90 degre gear box like you, I wan to use a old garden tractor transmission on a modified lawn mower with homemade frame and 3 pts hitch, I need a strong transsmission.

So my tractor is actually a GT18 of around the same year as yours. I’ve only ever seen 2 on the internet as they came out then shortly after immediately got a face lift on the body. Looks like a bigger beefed version of your gt16 body style. Has the 4 speed transmission with a disc brake funny enough it came with this. 2345 peerless I believe. But the belt is routed the same way you used to have it before the gearbox. Is there anyway I can keep it from melting the belts with a 6inch in the front and a 2.55inch in the back? I like the speed but the belt gets basically melted. I have the 18hp oppey with the intake riser mod as well. Thing just has torque for days and the belt doesn’t like it. I’ve been wanting to try maybe the green belts instead of the blue ones. But is there another way I can get the same speed with maybe a different pulley setup to keep from burning up the belts? My rear pulley gets hot enough to burn your hand as it’s happened to me. Should I try a torque converter at the front and maybe a 3.5inch pulley at the back?

What if I put a 7 inch Pulley on the front and a 5 inch Pulley on the transmission? I have A 6 speed transmission Out of a Craftsman 2 It's not the big transmission.l bty

Can you send a link for the 5 lug hubs you use on your 820s, I need some
I see your motor setup is vertical shaft. Do you prefer horizontal or vertical and why?
@okoffroadmowers Жыл бұрын
Depends on the setup! But I think a great setup is horizontal shaft engine similar to how wheel horses are setup We just don’t get very many horizontal engines out here where we live so we make do with what we have. Magnum the mower on our channel is setup with a vertical engine and a peerless 820 transaxle and that’s a amazing setup aswell

@@okoffroadmowers awesome seen some wheel horses by me just seen some videos where the pulleys spray mud like crazy. I appreciate the response ..im building a LT right now but also want to do a beefier GT. does the peerless 820 come in the wheel horses?

for the 7:5 ratio what size belt do you need
@okoffroadmowers Жыл бұрын
That would depend on a lot of things Easy way to measure is with a piece of string We keep all our old/worn out belts to do belt size testing!
