interesting. what if okoye is shuri's and black panther's older sister. she renounces her royalty to serve wakanda better as a warrior. then it was wakanda's tradition that they renounce and recognized that they have no family affiliation (like in star wars). so that will explain that they sometimes tease and banter each other. say, the dora milaje must come from the family of the rich or elite in wakanda.

See this is where there may be an issue. The comics that are used for the source material may not stand up to how the character is presented on the MCU. Then future comics about the character may have to take a different route due to how the character is now portrayed in the MCU just so they can be on the same page. However, I'm excited to see what Marvel comes up with.

The MCU has a lack of black super heroines and heroes, the first black hero in comics was was way back in the 1970s with Luke Cage, Powerman and the Falcon.( who was in also in his own comic with Capt America).
