Yeah, the way I read it was that once Manhattan regained consciousness, and gained the ability to manipulate matter, he also gained the ability to manipulate time and thus stepped out of the time line to educate himself about the way the universe works. That would happen so much faster than a human swinging a knife... A little bit like in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy when Deep Thought had deduced the existence of rice pudding and income tax before anyone managed to turn it off.

I think one of the scariest things about Manhattan is the fact that he technically isn’t extremely fast what he does instead is he warps reality around him. He returned to the past and lost his memories of a future that no longer exists. That is not equivalent to "losing the ability". And you can't retcon characters who have resistance to reality warping abilities. The writers of one-punch man get to decide how powerful of a character he is. He was specifically created as an unbeatable character and gained the title "The strongest". For whatever reason, Saitama can never be beaten. Though I wish they would elaborate more as to why.

As a huge silver surfer fan I never wanted him to scale to levels of power such as Manhattan's. I think the interesting thing about Norrin Rad is that he gets to see the forces of the universe unfold while being able to appreciate how small and insignificant life his at the cosmic scale of things, and yet for living beings it's the most important there could ever be. He's the mediator between those two worlds, and personally I don't feel the need to make powerful enough to beat celestials or stuff like that.

Exactly. Dr Manhattan was designed as a commentary on the stupidity of superheroes in the issue of power creep. His power is meant to be absolute. But that's necessary because it also kind of shows him as going insane - or what we would see as going insane, when in reality, he is just dissociated from humanity after spending the equivalent of billions of years in omnipotence. All he really wants at that point is peace and tranquility. This is exactly what you would expect from a real person who went through what he did. Each of the characters in the watchmen was designed in this way, to make commentary about a specific comic book stereotype. Rorschach is a commentary on Bruce who is basically a psychopath who thinks himself superior to human laws even though his moral code is just whatever he feels like in the moment. Spectre is a commentary on hyper sexyalized female superheroes who ends up getting raped. And also has consensual sex with a beta male. Speaking of whom, the Nite Owl is a commentary on how nerds fantasize about being like batman because he has no real superpowers. But he has gadgets and ends up getting the girl. But he's kinda trash as a superhero or even as a vigilante. He doesn't really do much of anything except bang silk Spectre. Ozymandias has superpowers, but represents vanity and the idea that Power corrupts, suggesting that the superheroes with actual powers are likely to be the ones who become corrupted. Etc...

The One Thing I notice when comparing similar characters from the Marvel and DC Universes, is that Marvel tends to put Limits on the Majority of their Characters, they have Flaws and Weaknesses, and Achilles Heel if you will, while in the DC Universe, they tend to be even more Over the Top than their Marvel Counterpart. I find that the Majority of these Battles between the Two Super Powered Universes, DC wins Most of the Time.

Good video, I wanted to address 1 thing which is the closeness in which the battle has, dr manhattan is strong but the silver surfer is just as strong being that half of the time the silver surfer isn’t fighting with the intention to win the fight, that just not how the silver surfer operates. He really is pacifist most of the time and most of the time just operates under a moral compass. He quite tepee opposite of dr manhattan which makes the battle a little more clear, dr manhattan is very straight forward and is at full power at all times being that he is his own source of power and really can do whatever he wants, now where I am going to with this, the real reason the silver surfer would lose ( and I say would because he can win) this fight is because dr manhattan tends to his problems right there and then and doesn’t make room for mistakes, if he wants u gone ur gone and that’s that but it all comes down to how much this fight means to the silver surfer, if he really needs to win the fight then he isn’t losing. Atomic disintegration, time manipulation and even just power to power, the silver surfer always overcomes his foes because with the “power cosmic I can do anything “.
