From WC USA, in the 1960’s stationed in Regensburg we used to go out in the evening to a beer machine located on the side of a major street and put in 50 Phennigs (one half of a Mark, 12 and 1/2 cents in U.S. money) and get enough bier to do us for the evening! We had a pool table where we could shoot pool, have our snacks and beer for the evening and then go across the hall to our rooms to go to sleep until it was time to get up and go do our jobs the next day, unless it was the weekend!

I was one of those entering the gates at opening and entered the tents. As an American I can tell you the security at entering was a joke. Of course I am certain that those conducting the checks know exactly what demographic is the one to search :-)

Sehr schon. Ich habe mit meine Freundschaft im 1979 teilgenommen und wahnsinge spass gehabt.. Oktoberfest ist uhr alt fantastich Beer fest. Viel Gluck und spass. Stadt Munchen war eigentlich mit viel zu viel blumen und schonheit beim Franz Josef Strauss ist immer lebendig wahrheit. Ma sha ALLAH, wir freuen uns sehr dass wir haben Sohn Hasan gehabt und Jetzt wohnt er im Kanada. Welt ist klein geworden. Prima!
