The more I learn about Okuma, the more I like them. Thanks for the video

I was on a beach trip recently. Mainly drinking beer but I fished the entire time. Three days in and the fish really started to hit when my Penn 5000 spinning reel crapped out on me. There was a bait shop on the Cape and all I wanted was a cheap reel to last me the rest of the week. I told the man at the bait shop my dilemma and he said "You can go back into town and buy a cheap $20 reel if you want, but we don't carry garbage like that." It was going to be a 60 mile round trip to get a garbage reel, or pay a few extra bucks and get an Okuma. Boy, I'm glad I took his advice. I was set up and fishing again in 20 minutes, and I really love the quality of this reel. It is smoother than my Penn ever was.

Hey @paulh7589, Great to hear that you were back in action and back into the fish quickly. Stoked that you opted for the Okuma and it did the job for you. Thanks for sharing your adventure and all the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

Let me tell you. The 8000 make one hell of a catfish reel. I have been using the okuma avenger for years and years. There very tough. I take crappy care of them.

Love the video, Very informative. I ordered the Av3000. What type of rod do you recommend for the Av3000. First time fisherman

Hey @chrismcd5752, Awesome to hear you're gearing up with an Avenger! Rod selection depends on target species, bait or lure, environment being fished, etc... however, if you're fishing bait an Okuma Barbarian would be ideal, with the 7', 702NT, a great option for bread and butter species. If river and estuary lure fishing is your choice I would look at a 2-4kg TT Copperhead. Hedging your bets with both bait and lure, check out the Okuma LRF GEN2 as a great crossover rod. Hope this helps. You will also find loads of info on our website - tackletactics.com.au/Home-Page - make sure you check out the 'Rigging Guides' and 'Tips and Techniques' sections. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

@@tackletacticstv7687 Hi Justin, thanks for your response. I ordered the OKUMA Kokanee Black. I think it's compatible with the AV3000 since they're both spinning rods, and I will be fishing for bass this summer Let me know your thoughts on this. The joys of being new to the fishing world

Hey bro how much for the 1000 reel am Bobby
@tackletacticstv76876 күн бұрын
Hey @ManiGreenwoood, Hope all's well and you're finding a fish. The Avenger has now been discontinued and we have cleared stock, so you may be able to track one down out in tackle stores. In terms of new release reels, I would recommend the Ceymar HD, a favourite of mine, that is packed with features and punches well above its current $129.90 SRP. You can check them out on our website at - www.tackletactics.com.au/collections/okuma-spinning-reels/products/okuma-ceymar-hd-reel. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

Здравствуйте, скажите пожалуйста 6000 катушка подойдет к удилища mad kat vertikal 1.90 ?
@tackletacticstv76872 ай бұрын
Hey @ВалераЗданович, we are the Australian distributor for Okuma and are not familiar with that rod. You may be better contacting the rod manufacturer for details on the reel seat sizing, or touch base with the Okuma distributor in that region. All the best with the fishing. Cheers, Justin

They’re very good, durable reels. That being said, I abuse mine in the saltwater and surf alot and they lasted about 2 years. Just always rinse them off and grease them up. I used their 5000 baitfeeder reel
