I applaud Jordy for the effort in trying to keep this episode coherent. Fella’s it’s cool to reminisce on your playing days but when there’s a guest like Aina, it would’ve been awesome to hear his insight. I’ve a brother trying to make it now and it would’ve been nice to hear how he found it at Hull but we never got to hear that part reach its conclusion. This was a missed opportunity episode, talk about bad touches, no cohesion and no one marking the back post. Only Jordy can leave with his head held high. Plane incident. Hull City experience. Chelsea days. 3 examples of stories, questions that he was answering that you didn't let him finish amongst many others. We didn't get to hear Ola give insight because they kept interrupting him. You've got a current active player from one of the most exciting unpredictable teams in the biggest league in the world who are disrupting the big clubs status quo in their league and could do something special and you just continuously talk over him. Let him answer your questions, yes for PR, privacy and just common decency he can't always give us the answers we want to hear but let him answer. So many missed questions left on the table such as best player he played with, most influential, who he emulates, his favourite today and all time, things he can answer that people want to hear, go for the old basic Messi or Ronaldo as the easiest question if you have to, better than making the guests time about you.

This episode was funny still, can't lie. Only critique is, with other guests we actually heard their story and got inside into their journey. With Ola we got snippets and then his story got interrupted bare times. I wanted to hear more about the beginning, he played for LTD and how did that go, who scouted him? how long were they watching him. Did his parents get the heads-up that he was been looked at? When Chelsea took him, what age did he get his first contract? How did that feel? How long was he in the academy before his loan to Hull? After Hull, what happened when he got back? Who advised him to go on loan in Italy over staying at the club? More insight into his time in Italy, who he got along with etc. Feels abit of a missed opportunity imo

This could’ve been done soo much better if you made the interview structured like this Aina getting into academy football Chelsea youth days and highlighting the fa youth cups wins, being around Chelsea first team and how it was like Talking about stories that he hasn’t talked about at Chelsea Going on loan with hull and how it played a part in his career, talking about players like Bowen who is a star now how he was back then. Talking about his close relationship with the likes of Tammy and tomori. Also talking about how his brother used to play for Chelsea youth and how that was like for him. His time at Torino and living in Italy at a young age, his funny insta stories with that player who dresses extravagant in Torino. Experiencing Torino vs juve derby. How it’s like playing in Italy and what’s the best away games you’ve played in. Talking about coming back to the prem with Forrest and what have you learnt from your journey that you take it to the prem with. Also international career and why he chose Nigeria instead of waiting for England. Libya story, first afcon experience and being soo close to winning it, debut for Nigeria. What’s it like playing in Africa qualifiers. Forrest experience so far. And all mixed with jokes here and there

I’ve been a Forest supporter since 88/89. I saw them win two League Cups and reach the FA Cup Final as a kid, as well as finish top 3 three times and get into Europe. I’ve also seen them get relegated to League 1, throw away a 2-0 first leg advantage to lose to Yeovil 5-2 in the League One play-offs, and be on the wrong end of a 9-goal swing to drop out of the Championship play-off zone on the last game of the season. There’s been highs and lows and boring periods, investment, administration and points deduction, but I can honestly say on the basis of his performances this and last season that Ola Aina is one of the best players and best characters to have played for the club.
