Hi Ola. I totally agree with idea of using multi effects with valve amps as control and fx unit using 4-cable method. But could you choose your favourite device or point out some advantages and disadvantages of most popular units on market? Currently I using Line 6 FX with my EVH 5150 but to be honest i'm not 100% satisfied since it cut delay/reverb tail while switching presets, and there is also small mute gap between switching them. I'm thinking about try out the Mooer Preamp Live because of possibility of tone capture, and then get back to my old TC Electronic G-Major device which is great sounding and utility despite of rather poor quality of buttons and controls. Edit: Now I can see you didn't recorded any video of Line 6 HX Effects which is basicly the same what Helix is but without any preamps modeling just to use it like you did with this Boss right here with 4 calbe method. You should record a video with it i believe. Cheers.

@@IgoRthethrasher I think there's a way to let the tails on in the hxfx, you have to change from truebypass to dsp bypass on the configuration

@Rumy 73 nah. Most of the one hour videos seem doesn't know how to work with, and we as the audience get dragged into their "discovery" which takes a looong time. Meanwhile Ola and Pete Thorn takes their time to understand the product. They like teacher who have prepared to teach, unlike other comes to the class clueless.

Cool is the thing that it is a seamless program change with the old delay tail that continues in the new preset, as in my old TC G Major but with the 4 cable feature, pre and post noise gate (... and many many more). An interesting multi-fx pedalboard to put in the shopping cart. Cool test, U are the BOSS, Ola! 1000 thanx.

I'd like to have this set up with the Randall 667 and 2 stereo 18" Marshall cabs!That's my sound right there!
@jontangenes92753 жыл бұрын
At 03:08 Eq as a boost. Ola you can't really compare the sound with/whithout the boost, as long as the preamp is set up for a boost in the front. To do this comparison right, you first have to set up your preamp as good as possible without the boost. And then dial back on the preamp and connect the boost effect to compair the sound. But Eq as a boost is a good idea. I used it on my old Marshall 800 (also from a GT board), mostly to add more low/bottom tones. At 07:50 you add an extra reverb, wery nice. What kind of reverb, and what setting you use here. Maybe I can make something like this on my GT-8...

The whole reason why i used racks is to not have so much cable running front and back. Live its always a b#tch. But the controls are better if you have this on the floor infront of you instead of having it in the back if your rack.also having the display is convenient. That was always one thing i was strugling with

For next FAQ -- I'm not sure if this was asked before, but here it goes anyway. How was it to be the replacement for lead guitarist Anders Bjorler of "The Haunted?" (Difficult, unnerving, exciting, etc). Obviously he is a pretty legendary guitarist, being a founding member of At The Gates as well. Also, do you know what he is up to these days? It seems like we hear nothing about new projects. His solo record was amazing. Love the Ola Englund channel and look forward to watching all the time!

tap tempo? when you switch the control button for the expression pedal is it going to start where the pedal is? because switching from whammy to volume would end in a total mute, right? the sounds are fine. the capability is great, but it seems like a couple things are missing
@JoeBaermann6 жыл бұрын
CTL 1 to 3 can be assigned to tap tempo, A/B channel switch, amp channel switch, any effect in the unit etc. lots of options really. And if that isn't enough you could even add 2 dual control pedals, 2 expression pedals or one dual control pedal and one expression pedal, not sure if the amp switch if not used for amp channel switching allows another dual control pedal. As for Volume to WAH, have to try that to answer your question, but it should use 100% volume if it's setup correctly.
