This is great to see. About 20 years ago I got a GT-3 and haven't plugged into an amp since. Setup and teardown is a snap, as is transport, and you don't deal with phasing issues live. I can radically alter my sound instantly. Of course, I've had a lot of people react with confusion and ridicule because of decades of being sold the "proper" way to do things, which is really mostly image.
@zdave60834 жыл бұрын
Mala chamber - ok , some of it is about image . Most of it is about tone and response, though. That 20 years of amp-lessness has made you forget how good it feels to crank up an amp . Go plug into a great amp and cab and it will all come back to you.

I've been playing for 47 years. I did exactly the same thing Nita did, started out with a BOSS GT-8, went to the 10, then the 100. I still use the 100, haven't bought the 1000. There's so much customization you can do with it. For instance, you can turn off the reverb, turn on the delay, turn on the EQ, turn on the lead boost, and turn on the WAH pedal all with a single button press. Pressing the button again returns you to where you started.

The great thing about using a unit like that is if it fails and that's a huge if BTW you can get one at any local shop and continue on with the tour. When you are talking tours a unit like that is inexpensive enough to have a spare pre programed and ready to swap out in less than a minute.

The downside is that if you can't get a unit locally your whole board, amp, cab is gone and you can't borrow eg just a spare tubescreamer from another guitarist as a temporary replacement until you've got a new unit. And you can't drop in a multi fx unit from a different vendor if you don't happen to have your setup in a format that's compatible with that device, too. Not saying that I'm against using this stuff, on the contrary, I'm more inclined to get the Axe FX, Boss GT1000 or similar stuff than I'm inclined to amass a huge gear collection, but it does have its drawbacks

People usually diss digitech and multi fx units, but they are some devices that can create beautiful tones, even these old devices. There is a guy here in YT that got some amazing sounds from an Korg AX300g, with a DI box after (which was perfect because that one would compress the signal a lot) and you would be amazed at the result! Great personality - She's fun to listen to both as a player and as just a talker! I've been using a GT-10 (several generations predecessor of the Gt-1000) for a number of years. I love that that she is working with modestly priced gear to the job done on the big stage. Keep Rockin!

Ampless is the way to go! Used a Line 6 for years and received tons of compliments (they were usually sad when they realized they liked a Line 6 product). Switched to a Tech 21 Blonde a few years ago and haven't looked back.

I stopped. by the Sam Ash in Dallas one afternoon and she was giving a clinic. A great teaching technique for a group. An excellent player without making it a "dig me" event. I will admit that I wasn't familiar with her before accidentally attending her clinic, but I left a fan before getting to hear a single recording.

@@mbgmail5911 Shes def gotten help from her gender and looks but guitar playing doesnt mean much without being able to write. I was surprised at how good her last original was. She made a video. It's really good. Better than Gus Gs latest Instrumental in my opinion. And hes a much better technical player. Doesnt matter though. Go listen to both of them and see for yourself.

Met her at NAMM. Super talent and personable. Big fan and this is brilliant tech to give performers the tools to give arena shows in club style venues.

The "synth" sounds to me sounds like a shimmer reverb with long pre-delay, cause I can get approximately the same thing on my TC Electronics Hall Of Fame 2. I love the sound too

love the simplicity of this lady! She always sounds so down to earth..playing simple major/minor chords focussing on the unit and not crazy jazz chords to show off!

you should learn the jazz chords sir ||| Use them

@@mauricewitherspoon8457 its not about me not knowing the jazz chords.i do know..but its about focus on the purpose of the video..which here was to show the gt1k with her and not showoff technical prowess that many guys do. Jazz on mate! cheers

She’s correct about modellers. Too many people obsess about comparing the amp model to the real thing instead of just using their ears.
@stopthehate17494 жыл бұрын
Great video and cool tones from Nita who always kicks ass. Also goes to show that somebody who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING can make Boss GT's sound great. Too often people say these units "suck" because they dont know how to use them properly. Another great point by Nita: she goes by what sounds good to HER EARS. (not by comparing it to an actual amp) I still use my old GT8, and i think of the amp models as preset gain and tone/eq reference points. (like using different stompbox overdrive and distortion units.)
@dhairya199473 жыл бұрын
Modelling had been predicted as the future long back and now we have Artist like Nita proving that, yeah all you need is a good board. There are very versatile boards like BOSS, Line 6 or maybe any other board that could just replace your whole pedal board's analog mess and an amp that may need 2 giants to pick. i use a Affinity into a Vox pedal into a 10 watt amp and yes i tweak hard to get the tones, but i do manage to get close.
