I have ultra-fine hair. So fine that box braids and cornrows with or without extension hair cause friction fractures in my strands. It's also 4c and has high porosity and high density but is not chemically treated or heat treated. I'm 40 in September, I take psychotropic medication and contraception, and am a Thalassemia carrier; all of which affect the health and growth of my hair. I had #1 and #2 done in the salon. Then I used #0 and #3 once and #4 to #8 weekly. I have noticed that my fragile ends are less friable, so today was my 6 week trim and there's little to zero to trim. My ends are actually intact. Normally by week 6 I would be dealing with thinning, knots, tangle and split ends. Note that Olaplex is a bond builder. It is not a substitute for your moisture and protein balance regimen or any scalp treatments. I alternated, mixed and rotated the Olaplex with my Aphogee, Cantu, Trichologists, Groganics and As I am products for the 6 weeks. Olaplex is just a booster. If your hair is fairly strong and healthy you won't notice a difference so don't waste your money. Also if you don't like silicones, Olaplex is full of silicone so avoid or be cautious. I clarify and chelate every 6 weeks so silicone is not a problem for me.

I thought it was just #8 (the hair mask) that had silicones..? And possibly the conditioner. Hmmm… *runs to bathroom cabinet to check*

@@marleyhill34 Thx sis I looked. ☺️ I’ll say I was queen of being anti-silicone. However!! Upon some research of my own, I’ve found that the Dimethicone products is not as bad as Amodimethicone which is the one that’s super hard to remove from the hair shaft. So just like you said, as long as you’re clarifying & chelating often, we should be fine. I just hope enough of us naturals realize this! It took me quite a while. I personally use AG Natural Balance shampoo (chelating) or Kinky Curly Come Clean to reset each time. Thx so much for your comment!

@@CremedelaCreme777 No problem. I was never anti-silicone or anti-shampoo. I had to learn what suited my hair and what suited my scalp. Chelating was a game changer because I lived some where with very hard water and it ruined my hair for 10 years while I was relaxed and my relaxer stylists never said a word. 🤣🤣🤣 Going natural taught me alot about hair in general.

Has it reduced breakage?? Or shedding?
@AnnaBelise
@AnnaBelise 3 жыл бұрын
For me, it helped with breakage for sure. Olaplex does not treat shedding/hair loss according to their website.

How does the shampoo perform? I know it gets sudsey but can you explain how it makes your hair feel?

Hey Love! My hair feels squeaky clean, but not stripped and it feels very soft afterwards. Hope this helps! Thank you for your comment.

Hey! I love number 5. I am surprisingly still on my first bottle after 6 months! (I wash bi-weekly) I think both the Shampoo and Conditioner are equally bomb.

How often did you apply the treatment?
@AnnaBelise
@AnnaBelise 3 жыл бұрын
I use the treatment every wash day so once a month. I wash my protective styles with the conditioner and the shampoo like once every week/week and a half.

That’s a nice routine. Thanks and love the content compared to majority of the Olaplex reviews. You inspired me to do at least a 6 month challenge. 👍🏾

@@vearnettwilliams5405 Thank you so much for the feedback. Yeah, I definitely recommend trying it out for few months. Personally, I think 0,3,4, & 5 are enough then follow up with your preferred Deep Conditioner. I tried 6,7, and 8 recently and it was a fail lol.
