Thanks for posting these! My baby fine grey hair is a completely different texture from my baby fine dark hair and I’ve been struggling to balance the two and find a good wash and styling routine that doesn’t damage my virgin hair. I’m learning so much and my hair is looking much better which makes me feel so good/ confident.

@@kaytom6721 Compared to the number of people who use Olaplex products, those suing are a small number (only 30), so I wouldn't take their being sued very seriously. Almost all hair product companies wind up getting sued. ANY product may cause reactions - on SOME people. Sometimes a reaction is caused by improper use or using with something else that - on that person - reacts negatively together. Unless you know you tend to be sensitive to the ingredients, you may be afraid needlessly.

How do you feel about the salon brand Eleven? It’s an Australian brand. my hair stylist recommended to me and it’s been good for my hair and the price is doable. I also use their miracle hair mask. I use the smoothing shampoo & conditioner since my hair is coarse and dry. I don’t use heat tools that often anymore since I highlight blonde and because my hair is extra dry due to where I live as well. I’m definitely going to try some olaplex and see if I notice a difference.

My hair is absolutely wrecked. I am naturally strawberry blonde, just wanted to cover a few grey strands. My newbie stylist dyed my hair dark brown!!!! She removed all of my natural, gorgeous highlighting. So a master colorist highlighted my hair, lightened my hair, and then glossed my hair. Needless to say, my hair is one crispy fritter. Olaplex 3 is an incredible product for damaged hair. I got my hair wet at a spa that had a waterfall with an enormous amount of chlorine. I thought I wrecked my recently blonded hair. I used the Olaplex 3 from a Christmas gift pack I had and I was SHOCKED at how quickly it restored my hair. Definitely worth the money. You don’t need to use it often either.

Olaplex has absolutely changed my hair, it's a miracle product. After about 15 years of heat damage and bleaching in my teens 😂. My hair wouldn't grow past my shoulders. Now my hair is half way down my back! I used the shampoo and conditioner for about six months and just recently started using number 3, I didn't know my hair could feel even better using olaplex ! Definitely worth the money even if I do have to really save to afford it ❤️

You can put on 0,5 speed in video settings and turn on captions! As to the video- He actually recommends shampoo and conditioner only for damaged hair as they are very heavy products. However no.3 before shampoo and no.6 ( very tiny amount) after washing and no.7 on ends is great for everyone as per his instructions.

Absolutely TRUE! My hair is the longest it's ever been. I use the 3 on occasion, 4&5 Shampoo and Conditioner when I wash....always the 6 bonding repair. I believe the 6 is the best....tried the 8 moisture and didn't do anything. My mom who has cancer got the shampoo and conditioner and her hair looks the shiniest ever.

@@grubchenmu9956 I believe he said he Doesn’t recommend the shampoo or the conditioner but he recommends Olaplex no. 3 BEFORE you shampoo, leave it on for about 3-5 mints and then shampoo it off and then condition your hair… he does speak fast . I have to replay the video over again so I can get it right. As a matter of fact, I was shampooing my hair first, then using the Opalex 3 , so I guess I was doing it all wrong…. 😅

@@CupcakeGrogan Heat protection spray (Redkin Hotsets 22) goes on just before using hot iron tools. He said in another video to spray one spray per every 6 inches of dry hair, then brush through with a "wet brush", then curl with iron or straighten with flat iron. A very tiny amount of Olaplex 6 can go on towel dried hair after leave in conditioner and before the Redkin Big Blowout. Olaplex 7 oil can be mixed with Olaplex 6 and/or put on finished hair for extra shine and protection... a little goes a long way. He did a video explaining how oil is an inferior heat protectant, so I think it's better to put #7 on as a finishing oil on ends... and mid hair if damaged or if it needs some shine.

I’m a little late to the game watching this video but I’m going through chemo #11 on Monday, and while I’m lucky and haven’t lost all my hair it’s definitely getting thin. I was truly ready to ask for an early Christmas gift from my dads to buy the whole full size Olaplex line lol. I’m so thankful my impulsive self decided to research first. I have a natural dark dark brown color and would bleach it once a month so I could have light pink or periwinkle lol the weird thing is I haven’t touched the bleach or really used a lot of heat tools, just haven’t had the energy. The weirdest thing though is my hair grew back in a very light brown which I plan on keeping all natural. Anyways I just wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and saving dad alot of money lol. Truly thank you 💜 also eff cancer

I also know people who had it happen when stylists used it on them- after one use. I also know it works great for some people. So just be careful.

This explains why olaplex works so well for me! The heaviness of all their products is perfect, my hair is delicate, curley and dense. I can only get away with washing my hair at maximum once a week due to very dry hair and skin. I need to use like a 1/2 tsp of the 6 after washing but it stops breakage and keeps it sleek and manageable in a way I've never had another product work before.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you wrote, but your hair might be too dry because you aren't using enough product, or the wrong combination of products. Your products need to do two things: add moisture (hydration) and seal moisture in (moisture retention). It also takes time to repair hair. Many of us give up way before they would have seen positive results!

Just my opinion as someone with kinky curly hair i disagree with 4 & 5 making your hair to heavy or greasy I actually felt like it helped me retain moisture in comparison to other shampoos and conditioners 🤷🏽‍♀️ but thanks for the great info ☺️

No 3 actually had some detangling and made my hair soft. Two weeks later after only one use....BABY my hair was soft and barely had any breakage on wash day. My breakage is normally out of control. Aghogee is usually my go to when the breakage gets out of control but it makes my hair so hard and my hair gets protein overload very easily so I can't use it for like 6 months. So No.3 is a great alternative.

I'd recommend Elizavecca CER-100. Booooy! I've read so much on this product as a duppe for Olaplex and my curiosity got the best of me. I bought it and it leaves the hair super soft and with good movement. It is a protein treatment, but whatever is the combination of products, it is great. I am seriously considering ditching Olaplex for it because it is difficult to get in my country.

My #1 rule with shampoo & conditioner is ALTERNATING!! I keep at least 6 different sets going and use a different one each time. I also think paying attention to how your hair feels is important (in & out of the shower). If after I shampoo my hair feels particularly dry & ratty I will add a bit of a mask with my conditioner for extra moisture. Nobody knows how your hair should feel better than YOU! Following the same routine without concern for what your hair is telling you is a big mistake to me. I have icy white highlights added to my natural blonde hair, I know this can be drying along with purple shampoos, so I make a point to use the ones that don't dry my hair out (but still alternate with other good shampoos). I do like #9 and #6 but still alternate with other products. My method of alternating also allows you to stretch the time with your more expensive products & get the benefits every time because my hair gets used to a product quickly. I pay attention to sales & stock up. Thanks for explaining!! I'll check out some of your other videos 🤍

This video was right on time for me. I have had healthy new growth, and no new length for months. I have relaxed hair, and went from thick bra strap length hair to shoulder length. I could not understand why my hair was "not growing". I thought maybe it was hormonal, but I'd have a healthy bit of new growth at my roots about every 7 weeks. I purchased the spray in this line at the beginning of the year, and just did not understand how to use it. Thank you for breaking down the different products, because by doing so, you saved my hair. I purchased No 3. and the bonding oil, followed your directions and OMG. I've also been roller setting, which has made a HUGE difference in my hair's health. When I am finished roller setting, I wrap my hair in a doobie and apply a few drops of the bonding oil. The results are FABULOUS! I wanted to cry I was so impressed, relieved. I discovered that a product I was using was damaging my hair and breaking it on the ends. I have also tried to cut out using a bunch of products in my hair, so that I could se which ones were working and which ones were not. No. 3 and the Bonding Oil have been a miracle for my hair's health. Thank you for helping me to figure this out.

I’ve got naturally dark brown hair and had the stupid idea to go blonde 😄. It worked, it looked pretty, also thanks to Olapex. But after 2 years I got fed up and had my hair dyed brown to avoid ugly growouts. Olaplex 3,4,5,6 and 8 are absolutely unbeaten to me 💁‍♀️. Whenever I use other products, my hair will punish me. My hair is thick and curly, I straighten it 3x a week.

I have curly hair and use No. 9 (as well as No 3 on a regular basis). I was surprised that dimethicone is in several of Olaplex’s products, considering their whole line is meant to either repair or provide bonding within the styling products to continuously prevent damage. Silicones are some of the most damaging ingredients…so I called Olaplex and inquired about this. The rep I spoke with said that the dimethicone they use is molecularly different from the generic dimethicones in other brands. She assured me that their dimethicone is water soluble, and therefore does not build up on the hair causing damage. However…I intuitively do not feel this is trustworthy information. I remember learning about isomers in my chemistry classes. I’m pretty sure that isomers are supposed to be labeled to distinguish them, even if they are made of the same numbers of each type of atom. This is why I cannot believe what they told me. Their label would show the isomer name, not just “dimethicone”. Please, if anyone knows more about this than I do, correct me if I’m wrong. No.9 works SOOOOO WELL for my hair. It is so light and coats each strand so well that I can run my fingers through my hair so easily. I always apply a leave in first (Shea moisture brand), then No9, then aloe Vera gel (like what you get in the after-sun care section). It has been the perfect combination for my 3A hair. The no 9 makes it so easy to apply a stickier styling gel without tugging and pulling, which is characteristic of what happens when you try to style hair with a naturally rougher texture. It also makes retouching applications so easy and it doesn’t take much product at all.

I have used 6 for awhile, and just bought a trial sized kit to sample several other products. I'm interested in 3 and 8 specifically. I read a comment from Olaplex that 9 is to be used like a facial serum: apply first to clean hair, then use styling products like 6 and 7. I had no interest in 7, but will revisit it after watching this video. I'm a bit unsure if my hair is actually damaged, or if it's just that I have dry, wavy, porous hair that is always going frizzy. I'll check out some of your other videos to find better mask options that you mentioned.

I found 0 quite hard to apply evenly. I use 3 as a preventative, but otherwise just take very careful care of my hair (medium thickness, fine, not dyed or bleached, silk pillowcase etc) The hairdresser really likes the condition of my hair, so I'm pretty happy with that.

No.8 really helped my hair without the use of no3. If my hair gets even more damaged i will have to invest in no.3. I also have no.6 and my frizziness has been kinda toned down. My hair is frizzy due to the damage of bleaching my hair. But honestly i dont think everyone needs all the olaplex. I would just invest in 3 products at the most.

I use O&3. I absolutely love it. I have curly, easily tangled, wirey hair.this system really helps prep my hair to receive moisture too. Applying it on an old blow out, my curls pop and are more defined. Cuts down on my drying time and blow dry. I’ll be looking into getting 6 when I return for 0&3.😊

I’d use that over the 9. I have coated hair that doesn’t easily wash now. I only had a trial sized tube but it is too heavy for fine hair regardless of how much you have. Leaving this here just in case you’ll read it or in the hopes of helping someone else.

I bought 0 and 3. I found 0 drying. When I used 3 with coconut oil (thought process was to seal in the healing attributes and slow/prevent the product from drying out (could be bogus) but my results were 💯 better than using coconut oil alone or 3 alone so it worked for me

Ok so I promise this has been my routine before I found your channel. I currently use No. 6 and 7. I use 6 right after I wash my hair whether I straighten it or not. Although it s not for repairing the hair, I have noticed a huge difference since I started using it. When I do straighten my hair I apply this first, a little less than pea size, let it sit. I follow it with the Moroccan oil smooth lotion for Blow-dry, about the same amount. By this point my hair smells Amazing! And then I follow it with this like very generic heat protectant spray my salon lady uses ( I will admit once this finishes I plan to buy a professional one) I like to do about 3 sprays ON MY HANDS, i don’t like to spray directly on my hair, and honestly, my blow dry last Long time and I get nice shine. Once I am done blow drying it ( I use Lange blow dry brush) I do apply No 7 to my ends and reapply it my third day. I am currently pregnant and get really hot, and sweaty, so I expect this styling to last me a little longer once I give birth. I have natural curly hair, my hair is up to my trapezoids and it’s color treated. Honestly this routine has been the best one I found. Based on your videos I realize that Morrocan oil is for coarse hair so I do plan to cut back on their product, and maybe this will help my Do last. Truly hope this helps someone :)

When I first started my hair journey, I found your videos. They're the reason I bought 4 & 5, these were on your site for fine hair. (I realize as you/we learn more about products, opinions will change too.) I'm almost done with the bottles now. They've lasted me a long time- but I've never been able to go more than my usual 'every other day' with this shampoo/conditioner. Despite shampooing twice & only my roots. Now I understand why. My new stylist, who does use Olaplex & Pureology btw, has told me that it's safe to wash my hair as often as I need to because I'm using quality products. It's been a struggle still. My hair is damaged but it's not because of heat. In fact, for the last 2 years I haven't used heat at all because my hair will not grow ( as I've learned, it's been just breaking off.) I feel like it comes out more than it should, but I don't have bald spots. I've been taking prenatal vitamins for 3 months now in hopes that it would help. I am trying very hard to be patient, 🤪 because I know this takes time. I just didn't feel like Olaplex shampoo/conditioner was doing me any good. Once these bottles are done, I am going to switch to pulp riot. 🤞🏻 Thank you for the update and explanations. On a side note, in the 90s I wanted curly hair so bad, I convinced my Mom to let me get perms. I know the first time I had one, it didn't take. So, I was brought back after some time for a redo. That one worked. I cannot remember exactly how many perms I had before I let it go... Obviously that hair is long gone. (I've always wondered if the perms from so many ages ago could've messed up my roots/ hair grow?) I have asked two different salons about getting a body wave in the most recent 6 years and both have pulled a strand of hair to test it and both have said no to me. Saying my hair breaks too easy. I don't understand it. In my head, I'm like, my hair withstood a 90s perm! It should be fine for a 20s body wave... But what do I know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey! The perms from way back shouldn't have any affect on your hair now. That's great that they tested it instead of just jumping right in and doing it. Hair is kinda like skin. It can change over the years and things like pregnancy and other hormonal shifts can cause permanent changes to your hair. Diet can also affect hair a lot. A very strict diet or going vegan are some examples. Hope that helps!

The stuff actually mad my hair fall out like crazy. I tried it two different occasions and both times my hair came out in clumps. After I stopped using it, the hair loss stopped. It might work great for some but not everyone.

I'm working my way through a trial size set that consists of 0,3,8, and a shampoo and conditioner. It's making a huge difference in the way my hair feels while I'm trying to grow it long again. I use the revlon brush dryer. I picked up the olaplex 6 and my hair really blew out nice. Better than when I use other products. I have very thick course hair. I recommend this product for my hair type.

I love Olaplex 4 & 5 (plus, 6, 7 mixed together)..it saved my hair when my stylist over processed my highlights and it was breaking off! You're right on with 0 and I won't buy 9 again. While my hair has grown out from that disaster, I continue to use 4, 5, 6 & 7. The key with 6 & 7 is to not use too much. I moved from the beach to the desert and my hair is much dryer here. This combo of product keeps it from drying out. What I don't love is that they now sell it on QVC😡

The best : N°3 to use before shampoo N°6 styling product, do not use too much, gets rid of frizz N°7 adds shine, great for fine/ médium hair, but he prefers n°6

Oleplex - transformed my shoulder length fine highlighted hair to grow the longest ever. I started with 3 and it is a great treatment. I do use the shampoo & conditioner 4 & 5 - makes it shiny....always the 6, I believe the 6 is what has helped my hair grow and prevented breakage. I tried the 8, did not condition much, maybe my hair didn't need moisture....I recently ordered the oil and have many oils I like, including the one at Trader Joes for dirt cheap. I want to find a good deep conditioner and thinking of trying the Amika line next....But Oleplex 4, 5 & especially 6 will always be my favs, the results speak for themselves!

I use 4&5 as my regular shampoo and conditioner, during the covid period I let my hair grow out quite long, it's fine but reasonably thick and just a little wavy and I find I don't need to shampoo more than once every couple of weeks or so, bear in mind I really don't use styling products and air dry my hair, every few months I use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of build-up and I'm good to go. I also use 0 and 3 but only infrequently perhaps every couple of months. This routine has helped keep split ends to a minimum and leaves my hair in really good shape. I do agree that 7 is amazing, love to use it on my ends when they start to feel dry. I'm interested to see if you have an opinion on the new clarifying shampoo they put out, shall go to your channel and check it out.

I been on my natural curly hair journey since 2019 and I have mixed and matched so many different "curly girl" and "repair" products I have heat damage and color change in my hair that my thin fine hair lost it's natural curl pattern I have finally found my perfect routine and yup that includes olaplex and Moroccanoil products. Thanks! That’s actually really useful info. I got the no. 3, 6, 7 and 9. I wasn’t sure when I am supposed to use no. 9. I recently changed the structure of my hair by getting a perm, and now my full routine has been changed. Between curl defining cream, mouse, gel and everything else I’m supposed to use to just maintain my curls, I don’t fully understand how to use all the products without it being too much and weighting it down.

Hey! There's a LOT of overlap between the #6 and the #9. I don't like to use them together bc they make the hair way too heavy like you mentioned. Personally I wouldn't use 6 and 9 together. I would just pick one 👍

I always use serums first. Just like skin care. My hair handles A LOT of product so I put my serum in first thing, go in with a spray thickener, then a leave in, which could be No6 for you, then I have my Curl procuts. Lightest to heaviest

You want to use it before you wash. I leave it in overnight for a longer time before use the shampoo & conditioner & then I use Redken 25 leave in to seal the moister and after blowdry i put the smoother one here in and I straighten it. If you have damaged hair try to use lowest heat setting possible thou.

Olaplex absolutely wrecked not only my hair but thousands of other peoples hair that I'm in a group with. Lots of us only used olaplex or olaplex was introduced abd the damage started, thinning, bald spots, fried ends, breakage, sores on scalp. They've got a cpl of different lawsuits against them just now for this exact thing. I had the whole system and binned the lot. I've switched to innersense and ouai. I'm not keen on touching another bonding product but if I was then it wouldn't be plaplex it would be k18.

I love Olaplex, but I have damaged hair right now. Olaplex has helped me repair my damage. You are right that the shampoo and conditioner does make it feel heavier. But my hair was wrecked. So I’m willing to live with it for a month. However, I did get the suggested products from your website. I love the styling products and the routine has helped Olaplex work better.

Chris I have a lot of long medium hair and I’m glad I saw your comment on applying olaplex 3 to wet hair. I try to make sure that my hair is fairly coated if I can (it takes a while and at minimum a whole bottle) and I apply to a little higher then mid length and concentrate on my ends because I have rainbow hair that’s damaged mostly from a lot of heat styling in the past (before I knew of the hair secrets and the damage a flat iron could do! )It’s only been bleached once over my whole head and then a bit of a root bleach because it had grown so long, how do you recommend applying the no. 3? It’s impossible to find a decent tutorial of the correct way to use the product for the max benefit. Also I live in Florida and moved to my first house on a well, I have a shower head filter but my hair has become so dull (I wash maybe 1-2 a week) I don’t know what to do! Any suggestions?

Hey! For the No 3 I would get the hair wet first like you said... Try your best to apply it evenly... Then brush it through with a wet brush or similar to spread it out. The brush should make it so you can get it all over without using a ridiculous amount :) Well water is really tough. I'm experimenting with some products that remove the minerals hard water leaves behind. But I still need to try them more to see if they're good. I'll post about it if they turn out to be good!

I have the shampoo and not the conditioner (my color guru didn’t have both at the time) it seems to be the only thing I can really find that is made for the mineral buildup of hard water. It’s such a nightmare 😩. I can attest to my hair feeling so much lighter, shiner, smoother and healthier after using it however I’m afraid it’s too harsh on my hair color so I use it only sparingly (that and it smells like I swam in orange juice). I have a crazy meticulous hair care routine..that I have revamped after watching literally everything you shared here (thank you!!!) so now showers on my hair days (yes I have them scheduled for the most part) are going to take even longer but hey there’s a guest bath for a reason right? I can’t wait to see the results I get after I apply your advice 💛💛

Hey! It's easier to apply to wet hair in my opinion but you can do either. I would leave it in for at least 10 minutes but longer won't hurt :) I would still only shampoo your scalp but you can bring down some suds and rub them into the length of your hair if you're having issues clearing the Olaplex #3 👍
