Olaplex vs K18 for Natural Hair - What's the Difference?

I've used Olaplex No. 3 for about three years. When my hair started approaching my waist the coils in the midshaft became looser than the rest of the hair so I started using Olaplex 3. After about four months of using No. 3 once a week the issue was repaired, and I've continued to use it once a month to help with my hair's tendency to lose elasticity.

My stylist used Olaplex in my hair years ago when I first did the 30 day detox. She only did it twice. She said my hair didn't need as much. But I did a few months ago decide to try Bond Bar which is a dupe for Olaplex at Sally's I actually like it. Reasonably priced.

I’ve used Olaplex3 twice and I’ve tried their shampoo and conditioner . I think they’re 4 & 5. I didn’t really have a reason for using them and this was about 3 or 4yrs ago and haven’t used since.

Hello can you provide me with some advice. I have a keratin and heard that K18 works well with keratin. My question is what are the exact steps? Do I use a keratin shampoo/ conditioner and only use the K18 repair mask or should I use the K18 shampoo/ conditioner along with the mask? I've been growing my hair really good and dont want it to fall out

K18 molecular hair mask is designed to be used between shampooing and conditioning. Shampoo hair with shampoo or your choice, apply k18, wait at least 4 minutes, then condition, detangle, style as desired!

You’re welcome Erin! I think it is very important to use products as directed by the product company and/or as directed by your hair stylist. I can’t advise you on how often to use it because I don’t know why you are using it or the condition of your hair. I do know that the order is shampoo, treatment, conditioner of choice, style as desired.

thanks for this review. I style my hair on soaking wet hair, so wondering how this will work if it is to be used in damp hair. i assume you can rewet hair, but it says not to rinse out- so not sure how it would work to apply a conditioner afterwards as i would definitely have to rinse that out. I guess after the 4 mins it will still be effective, but most likely won’t get the full results if i rewet my hair.

Hi Margarita! I’m assuming you are asking about the K18. After the 4 minutes I apply the rinse out conditioner, no resetting before applying the conditioner. After the 4 minutes the treatment is in your hair strands. Then style as usual. There’s more information in their website about ways to use the product. Hood this helps. Thanks for watching.
