As someone who witnessed the gradual removal of the Nickel Plate in Indy and up through most of Noblesville over the past few years, that scene of 587 rolling into Fishers Station at 1:10:09 hits pretty hard

This movie seemed like a fever dream to me, 2 decades after when I saw this, I haul freshet across the country. Not by rail but by diesel semi trucks. I wouldn’t treads it for the world.

This is my favorite movie of all time. And this movie is one of the reasons why the 587 is my favorite steam locomotive of all. I got to see her in person at Noblesville three times in my life. The movie is also the reason why I'm against steam locomotive scrapping.
