23 seconds in is the Alcoa Building. Still standing. Very unique since it's made out of aluminum and it has square windows with radiused corners.

Used to work on one of the top floors in the old Alcoa Building. Fun fact about the building is that there was no privacy there at all. In fact Alcoa figured this out and leased space at the William Penn Hotel to hold confidential meetings. I'm not sure why but the Aluminum skin of the building acted like some type of audio conductor or modulator and I could perfectly hear conversations 5 to 10 offices away.

@@monthandley3979 awesome info. I’ve always wondered what it was like inside there.

Was in Pittsburgh for 2 years in school. 1962-1964 City was not that smoky and they were cleaning up the buildings. Loved that town! It certainly has changed in the past 56 years.

My parents both worked in that Alcoa building in the early 1960s. Not sure when this footage is from....late 50s/early 60s, I'm guessing, from the vehicles in the footage 🤔 thanks for sharing

I see the civic arena constructed 1960 and a glimpse of the point bridge demolished 1970, and I wished they hadn’t destroyed the point bridge among many Pittsburgh landmarks.

Just think they had to buy film and then pay to have it developed!

These was the days if the old lady gave you any sass you could introduce her to the back of your hand. I would drink martinis and high balls and smoke a couple of pall malls. Them was the days when us fellas had it made.
