My mom told me one her grandma used to tell her. It was about stealing things. "If you'd steal a pin, you'd steal a horse." Means if you'd steal something so insignificant as a sewing pin you'd think nothing about stealing other things.

I can't say how much I appreciated this video, Jared. I remember so many of the sayings and when they were told to me! I've looked through the comments and many have already said the ones I would have posted. The only one that comes to my mind is something my Big Mama told me when I was young. Now, wanting me to have a good education and life, my parents sent me to a private school. Thing was, I was nothing like most of the kids there and it showed. We wore uniforms, but it showed in other ways. Unlike the other girls there, I wasn't interested in society things like where you got your shoes from, your hair done or the latest fashions. I loved jeans, horses and the outdoors, so the only time I was clean was at school and when I took a bath at night! It didn't help that I stuttered badly either. My parents couldn't figure out why I was unhappy, but Big Mama knew! She caught me crying one day. I told her that the kids at school were making fun of me. She took me to her bedroom, stood me in front of the window and said, "Look at that window. Curtains came from the ten-cent store, but they're clean and nice. And if I went to Davison's and bought hundred-dollar curtains, it would look different, but it's still the same window! Just 'cause you dress it up, doesn't change what it is." I understood what she was saying immediately and hugged her so hard that I probably hurt her! I never, ever forgot again that it was ok to be me! It was ok that they were them too! You can find common ground if you just look. We don't teach common sense like this anymore. We need to. Thanks for putting some out there! Y'all take care now! May God bless you and yours. 😊

I made it back from Kentucky just fine a few days ago.....Leaving wasn't a easy thing to do. Pretty sure everyone knows how bad the fires were out in California and those who lost thier homes to the fires.....Keep them in prayer please.
