I have a typo in the video didn't catch it :). I put tongue oil, but it's actually Tung oil. Also, I know restoration is something new I'm experimenting with. These can be bought new for cheap, but keep in mind that I find the process satisfying. I make videos for you all so your opinion matters :D. So let me know what you think.

My wife and I love your videos, but the one where you barely talk or have much commentary, not our favorite. Your skills are great and a joy to watch, but definitely keep the commentary and your personality in the videos.

You are definitely a WORKER!!! all that sanding, and smoothing. My hands would have gotten super tired. I have an old Axe handle and I thought for a minute to do what you've done...but that is A LOT of work!!! Beautiful restored Axe!

When you started the video, I thought it was an old axe that was a family heritage because of its style and that you were going to bring out the finish and make a beautiful resharpen and handle. When you started grinding, I tought omg, he is ruining the old piece. But I kept watching and was very doubtful you would make anything unique, but this was only my third video, so I really didn’t know the depth of your talent. Great job!

Check out reverse electrolysis for removing deep rust. A couple hour soak in Naval Jelly will get rid of most surface rust as well, without having to grind so much. Good work though. :)

I've been seeing a lot of axe/hatchet videos lately. Yours is the only one I've watched. Well done! I have a rusty old hatchet I should mess with, but it's a fiberglass handled one.

Great job on the restoration. You turned a rusty hulk into a piece of art. Try a drawknife the next time you make an axe handle. I think you will like it and shaping will go faster.

Man you brought that thing back to life - looks near brand new. I actually quite like the half way grinded/cratered look, kinda a cool contrast as a display piece, but then again - there's no accounting for my taste!

It's called a roofing hatchet, the hammerhead was for driving roofing nails, the notch in the blade was for pulling nails, the hatchet part was for splitting wood cedar shingles, and the overall length from hammerhead face to hatchet bland was the offset length to start the next row of shingles. Nice work for your first project, your attention to detail is great.
