It's their first song. I've met them in Germany back in 2019 when they weren't so popular and was just warmup group and I've believed in them since then. Never disappointed and never failed. Also my first tattoo is tribute to them. Noah and Bad Omens saved me.....still my top one song and band,still i owe them my loyalty. New stuff is great.

fun fact: bad omens were originally going to be called glass houses, and this single was to be called “bad omens” but they ultimately decided to release it as “glass houses” and call themselves bad omens

Fun fact: the "you stabbed me in the back, but not deep enough" line is basically a fan/band favorite in this song, since it is tradition that everytime they do this one live it is the people screaming it instead of Noah(or very oftenly at least). Been there, done that, that was weirdly cathartic. They basically do it in every concert since, if I am not mistaken, this was their first song ever. A classic

Their first album is my favorite of theirs. The aggression is just on another level and the lyrics are just top tier. After you do the other singles from this album, I highly suggest listening to Malice, Hedonist, and Reprise (Sound of the End) but there are literally no bad songs on this album.

History lesson: this album came onto the scene right as Bring Me The Horizon was dropping "That's the Spirit", which a lot of BMTH fans didn't like because of all the Pop influence. So a lot of BMTH fans gravitated to this new band Bad Omens because the sound was so similar to BMTH's older stuff. They caught a lot of flack for this album sounding TOO similar to Sempiternal from BMTH though, which led to them carving their own niche in later albums.

Definitely one of my favorite songs by them, and I love the live version. In the live version they change the intro so it fits more slightly with the DOPOM industrial-esque sound, but it's still very heavy. As far as the album, it's probably my least favorite personally, and the band definitely feels that way too. There's songs Noah has openly said he doesn't like (Broken Youth, The Worst in Me), but the album still has some bangers. Hedonist, Crawl, and The Fountain are stand-outs for me. It is really fun to hear how they've grown and improved too, especially when you hear the current live version (present-day live Broken Youth goes HARD) as opposed to the studio. They have improved so much and come so far. Also if you guys decide to react to Finding God, PLEASE react to the unplugged version of Mercy. It's honestly just as good if not better than the original.
