All that has happened is the battery safety circuit has tripped, which can happen if a battery pack is shorted; and recharging it for a couple of minutes resets the circuit and the battery pack then works. That is NOT a dead battery, it is a protection circuit. Good example of an 11 minute video that could have been 1 minute long...

I found dimes fit and work best for me at least. I've been doing this for a while now. But Good job!! It should be pointed out that you MUST stay with the batteries and not go for a dump while they're plugged in together. They can overheat and then you'll find yourself in similar issue like our West Coast neighbors. They only need to be hooked up for a couple minutes for the "dead" battery to wake up from its low voltage cutoff. Once a battery gets below the voltage spec for that type of battery, it goes into a sleep mode in which the built-in protection circuit shuts it down appearing as though it's dead or severally inebriated.. Sort of the same principle for 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Their rating I think is about 4.7V when fully charged. But when the battery discharges below its cutoff-threshold of 2-2.5V it goes into the same sleep mode. That's when your normal charger won't recognize it as anything let alone a battery and that's when most people toss them. If you have a bench power supply to where you can control the voltage you want to give it then great otherwise find an old junky low-volt charger. I'm sure you have all sorts of them all spaghettied in a junk drawer or box in the garage that you have no idea what it goes to but you, "just couldn't throw it away". Well, now cut the plug off and strip the end of the wires and tape them on. Ehh, first get your voltmeter to make sure your cruddy charger still can get it's voltage on. Again, we don't want anything big, just above the battery's threshold so like 4-5 volts and no more than an Amp or just under. If your voltmeter reads 4-5V, your golden. You can tape the wires or better yet, if you have non-working device that used that size battery then take the battery holder out of it and solder the charger wire ends accordingly to the battery holder and place the battery in it and then plug the old cruddy charger in the wall. The point here is to charge it slow so watch the time while trying to sneak past Sleeping Beauty aka Protection Circuit without her waking and denying the charge. After 5-6 minutes of low-voltage charging check the battery's voltage with your multimeter. It doesn't take much to go from under 2.5 to 4 volts. If you're reading voltage over 3-4V than you can slap her in your real charger for the home run. Now for DJI drone batteries, forget it. I have to pretend like I have some sort of life going on! I just realized how long I've babbled for, ugh, it should show you that "I'm really living the dream and how exciting my life is"! Well, if you fell asleep or this actually helps you than I guess I still wasted my time. To the rest of you all, "Happy New Years"!!!
